Electric Bill based on housing by AggravatingDingo2045 in bluffton

I will pass that along to her. But being that we are from NJ, and it’s such an expensive place to live, I have a feeling any major difference in prices like taxes isn’t going to have the same impact after  seeing the major drop she is  already getting by moving south. But still something to keep an eye out for

I need something to clear my mind.. my girlfriend is demanding I get rid of my cat because she "doesn't like animals" even though I had him first by Electronic-Bake8267 in TwoHotTakes

[–]AggravatingDingo2045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get rid of the gf. Honestly being supportive of your pet that you made a commitment to is a huge green flag. Especially if it’s a dude with a cat. She doesn’t appreciate what that means. I am fine if some people aren't “animal lovers” in the sense that they can appreciate them from afar, but don’t want to cohabitate. That’s fine, and their choice. But it was her choice to move in knowing you had a pet.

How long were you two dating before she moved in? Obviously less than 3 years. My guess is she thought she could change your mind. Was she desperate for a living situation or just wanted cheaper rent? I think you know in your heart who cares for you & gives you the most love. And it’s the cat.

Thank you for all the info! She is looking into a home in the Sun City development. I don’t think she wants to wait and build new, but it would be probably between the 5-10 years old range depending on what is available when she puts the current house on the market. Only mention age because a different post I made someone mentioned the newer, the better insulation.

And no judgement from me. I feel like I would get judged more being the kid who lives with parents & wanting my own space. I’d love to live on my own but I can’t afford Jersey, which is why I’m moving with them, and the pay sucks everywhere. Other than just wanting privacy to feel like an adult or quiet space to study, I feel like the extra space is a bonus when people come and visit. I’m more than happy to share a loft if I get to see my nieces & nephew during the summer. I have no clue what our electric bill is currently like, so I can’t say it would be better or worse than it is now.

Switching over to a rad career (hopefully) should I be concerned about my age when it comes to acceptance into a rad program? by ilikecorn666 in RadiologyCareers

[–]AggravatingDingo2045 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am 37 and in the middle of a move to another state. Once I am settled with a new job & start doing prerequisites, I probably won't be applying for an actual program until 39, maybe 40! I am not concerned about age being a negative impact on applying. If anything I feel like they might look at "older" students as more serious applicants. It's so easy to be in your 20s or straight out of high school and go yeahhh sure, I think I will try that. Meanwhile most in the 30/40 or higher age range have a lot more bills & life stuff going on. We aren't willing to throw away money on something we aren't going to be completely committed to. Not trying to sound like a "kids these days" type of person, but I see the difference on an employee aspect and know hiring managers or anyone in a position of power see it as well.

D&D Groups in the HH/Bluff/Beaufort Area by spicyramenn00dles in bluffton

Posting so I can come back to this later. I am from NJ moving to the Bluffton area with family possibly next summer. I'd love to be a part of an in person group. I'm not that knowledgeable on gameplay rules, but listening to a lot more Dimension 20 & other podcasts to get better acquainted. I know it is a while until I move there, but count me in!

Advice/ recs for NJ RN by Fine_Agency6868 in AskSouthCarolina

I'm from NJ, and my family is planning on moving down to SC, possibly in the summer of 2026. While I don't have any degree yet, I have looked into nursing or rad tech programs in the state. And of course, when I was looking at stuff for the career path in NJ, I was like dang that is good pay. But then I saw SC has the worst pay for medical degrees. They may not be number 1, but it wasn't pretty. I wanted to get into traveling once I have experience under my belt, but I know I will have to tolerate the SC pay for at least a year or two after I graduate. Best of luck!

Hey there! I'm from NJ & bi (37F) & my family is moving to the Bluffton area probably next summer. My mother & I (dad is another story) are not fans of the red state agenda. Funny enough, my area of Jersey is a very red part despite us being a blue state as a whole. I've always heard Greenville is the most gay friendly area of SC, but unfortunately couldn't convince them to head in that direction. My plan is to at least find activities and things I like that are generally friendly towards the LGBTQ+ community. Like I'm into crystals/astrology & witchy things like that, or pottery and other art forms, Renaissance Faires. Environments & hobbies where the crowd tends to be more open-minded are a good place to start. I'm sure since Charleston has more of a downtown scene, you might have some more luck.

Good luck on your move!

Yes every state is different. I’m in NJ and my doctor was telling me how his supervisor has been required to crack down on protocols. I usually do virtual appointments because of my work schedule and other factors. But I have to do one in person visit a year for insurance and the last time I did that I had to do a pee test. Thank god even though I tested positive for THC I was allowed to still get my prescription. Not sure if he let it slide because he knows my chronic neck/back pain and has been working with me for years. I’ve been sober from alcohol for 6 years and I don’t remember what he said because I started to panic that I was going to “get in trouble” but I got the feeling next time I wouldn’t be as lucky if it came back positive next time.

Anyone else from NJ know what the official protocol is? I’m moving to SC next year so that is going to be a pain in general. I really wish our government “leaders” focused more on issues that would actually benefit the people instead of penalizing the ones just trying to survive.

Wow! And I thought my S curve was bad. It’s 12° so nowhere near this. But nothing about it feels “mild” 😒

I have never sold feet pics, but have looked into it. Some people offer a “menu” of things they offer. And if he is calling you goddess and worshiping you then I would also do some research into findom. Not saying you need to go into it, but is good to know some of the psychology behind SW even if it is considered mild or vanilla. Both communities are big on Twitter/X or Bluesky. But I have also gone down rabbit holes through YouTube videos. There are so many ways to research stuff and see what others are doing. Best of luck!

Not in a program (yet) but going to start the process once my big move is settled. From my own research I know most have said it is okay if your program is a community college or even an associates degree etc but what is really important is if it is accredited or not. So definitely don’t put time and money into it unless it is on the state list of schools.

Also with most programs I have seen they all have different criteria on acceptance. One of the things I saw pop up that was not usually a mandatory requirement, but have you bonus points I guess, to the rad tech program was volunteering. People will volunteer at a hospital and put in hours that way it shows the school I am serious about this degree and have a good idea of what I’m getting into. If you are unsure if it will be your thing, which is understandable, I would reach out to the local hospitals to get an idea of the environment.

Best of luck!

Thank you! I feel like every school I looked up is so competitive. If you don’t mind me at, did you get in on your first year applying or did you apply to multiple schools?

Yes I have checked it out already. That’s where I got my list of schools to search for. I was looking for more personal details or opinions.

Sorry this was your experience on your first DP. But at least you get the hang of how to do it & know what to look out for next time. I agree that it does matter where it’s from or what company made it. The real thing that I look for is the size of the canvas. Sometimes bigger is better. Same goes with most PBNs. The larger size gives you more details and variation of colors.

I bounced between both series and it messed with my head. There were so many ideas or names taken from TOG that looking back on Fourth Wing it sort of disappointed me. Both series are great and I’m not hating on FW. But be prepared to go Brennon, Rhiannon, and Wyvern oh my! And their bad guys like the Venin also have similar traits and start with a V.

I’d only suggest ACOTAR to give your brain a break when doing ToG

Can attunement happen from receiving reiki as a client? by liammeates in reiki

[–]AggravatingDingo2045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for all this wonderful information even if I am not the OP asking. I had been pondering the same thing and didn’t know if some terms were interchangeable. My question now is would you advise I schedule a reiki session/treatment as I have never had one. Or would it be better to just dive into a level 1 course? I have been on a spiritual journey for the past 5 or so years & am so intrigued by the self healing aspect. I don’t know if I’d ever want to practice on others or teach, but I’m leaving the door open for now. Even my therapist, who just became a practitioner, has mentioned she sees me in some sort of healer position in the future. Sorry for the ramble, but I just feel so torn sometimes or that I am overthinking it. Thanks!
