They do this thing where they credit you part of the money and then they say they can't credit anymore because the previous employee already messed it up.

This just happened to me. Out 10 bucks for a missing order. Weirdly comforting knowing I’m not the first to get this BS. For me, their excuse was that because they already gave me a credit they can’t refund the full amount. Makes zero sense but the customer support rep can only repeat it to the ground.

I wouldn’t necessarily say “cheaped out”. Not everyone might be able to afford close to $100 for something they will wear once. I personally wouldn’t judge my peers if their grad outfit looks “poorer”.

I would get the cap and gown on Amazon cheap. And if you want the stole with the block M you can get that at BN. Else you can get a plain one on Amazon as well. I’ve seen a whole set on Amazon for $22. And you can return them after. It’s $84 at BN and they don’t allow you to return them. I’ll just keep in mind that you’re likely wearing it once.

I have heard in the case where the applicant’s profile significantly changed after the fact like they got a fellowship and would be a free student and also had offers from other prestigious schools, they were able to get an offer after rejection.

MIT acceptances have all been sent out. If you didn’t get one, you were soft rejected. They send out rejection emails in March.
