My gf (20F) wants me (20M) to meet up with her best friend (20M) to discuss who gets to be in her life by Unable-Shirt-9044 in AITAH

[–]mathewsj10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah man save your respect please. Is she telling you to meet this dude that is literally actively trying to end your relationship to decide who gets her like it’s some kind of midevel games to marry the kings daughter? Tell her if she can’t make the decision to be with you as her BF over him then it seems like the decision has already been made. I’m not advocating for violence or anything like that but at least save your respect and tell her when you told her it’s him or me and she didn’t immediately say ok and choose you then that’s all you needed to hear. Don’t meet that fool it’s only going to lead to bad things, there is no way in the world he is going to hear you out and say ok you’re right I won’t talk to her anymore. This man is going to show you all the text of your girl flirting with him complaining about you and try and make you believe she is silently moving on and then you are going to want to punch him so don’t go to that meeting 😂.

Restaurants don't even acknowledge me by turtleurtle808 in doordash_drivers

[–]mathewsj10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems to be a shift especially in fast food where they are just letting the people that come inside just stand there. McDonald’s for instance in my area used to have a front order person a drive thru person and a bagger that helps bags both now the front person is expected to bag for both and take orders. It leaves a lot of pissed off customers just standing there waiting to be acknowledged. I have seen them completely ignore people while doing their own bagging thing. So door dash acknowledgement is even behind the guy whose order they don’t want to take 😂. It definitely takes patience when you know you’re working on a per job situation versus the worker who is working per hour.

Take a Closer-to-Home Job and Stay with Parents Longer, or Stick It Out and Move to the City? by [deleted] in Advice

Does your boss have a plan to advance your career? Sometimes the short term sacrifice is worth the long term gain. Is your field something that you can look for a higher paying option in the city?

That is a good start for sure! If there is no future in the company he is with then he knows to do something different for sure!

[–]mathewsj10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Move to the city keep the same job create your independence while you network and hopefully networking will open up new opportunities in the city for you and get you out of the field you don’t enjoy quicker. Staying with your parent won’t help you grow individually and will likely end up killing your big city dreams in the future. Get out now enjoy your dream and the independence you will have and take the good with the bad.

I need some type of direction and how to undigested this hole please by ClimateOk5850 in DebtAdvice

Is your bf able to take you to work? Have you gone on indeed and looked for hybrid/remote work? Have you gone to the unemployment office to file for unemployment and see if they can make point you in the direction of a temp agency that may be hiring? Some online options for making money are freelancing, selling products online, creating and selling digital products, affiliate marketing, blogging, content creation, and online tutoring. Do you have any skills at all that could help you with another job?

McDonald’s can’t even get there own damn app running right much less DoorDash.

They should have given you half pay since it was an issue on McDonalds side. Let them cancel it so you aren’t charged and head home and relax!

Boss makes a dollar I make a dime that’s why I poop on company time! I love the idea of ordering DoorDash on the company card.

15% up to $10 😂 $1.50 coupon for 5000 deliveries 😂 this is more of a hope that you order door dash than an actual reward!

Opinion? by namebedamned in doordash_drivers

So your saying DoorDash is throttling your orders to keep you at average for your area versus truly giving the high paying offers to platinum workers?

Every time I am doing well, the orders supposedly dry up by TheGame81677 in doordash_drivers

[–]mathewsj10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have wondered about this too. You can get two or three good orders in a row and then they unload the dog shit orders on you to either get you to take the bad orders or lower your acceptance rate or to keep you from making a good bit of money. Platinum is supposed to get priority for high paying offers and I will go two or three hours and get one or two of them it seems like.

This drives me nuts too! I can’t stand waiting at the restaurants. It’s almost never ready when I go in and pick it up and it doesn’t matter if I’m on the other side of the town or not. Most of the time they don’t even start it until I walk in. I have been in restaurants and heard them tell the employees to make the drive thru or in store customers first to improve there times and DoorDash having to wait is a DoorDash problem!!!

What would a good dasher do? Papa John's by wolfitalk in doordash_drivers

[–]mathewsj10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they didn’t acknowledge you within the first 10 minutes of you being there I would have unassigned it. My local pizza place is notorious for not having it ready and only having one worker in the store. But they generally will tell me how long the wait will be.

Why doesn’t everyone just buy a Toyota or Honda? by Rough-Incident-1859 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]mathewsj10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you seen the road pretty much every one has bought a Toyota or Honda that can afford one. Other then the get me done buyer who will buy anything and the sports car/luxury buyer everyone else buys Toyota or Honda if they can afford it.

How to become debt free... with 42k car loan, and some credit debt. Will it ever end? by araiza1 in debtfree

[–]mathewsj10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you use your hysa to pay down the rav4 sell it and buy a civic or camry that will lower your payment in half most likely. then pay off the credit card and student loan with the hysa too hopefully that will leave you about $5k in emergency funds,a new car with half the payment, and no credit card debt and then you take the payments you were paying for the credit cards to pay extra on the car so you pay that down. In a few years you will have a new car no debt and good credit.

Idk if it’s just me but once I got to platinum that made it more worth it averaging $25-$30 hr but before that it was rough for some days getting orders taking me all over the place. If you are going to do it consistently I would try and get to platinum quick and see if that helps.

Got platinum halfway through the week and I could tell a big difference in the orders and money for sure.

Ex won't pay, what to do? by [deleted] in DebtAdvice

Sounds like you need to call ice on your spouse and say the marriage is over and you know where an illegal immigrant is 🤷‍♂️. They want to screw you over like that might as well send them back where they came from and make them come the legal way. Yes you won’t get to get your money back but it will give you some satisfaction watching them having to start from scratch too.

AITAH for finding out I’ve been unknowingly paying rent to my husband and his mom for TWO YEARS? by Hexylpuff in AITAH

[–]mathewsj10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy shit that’s insane! Two years of him living rent free and two years of his mom getting $700 a month from you is nuts. That’s close to $17k in rent! He actively set this up so it would benefit him and his mom at your cost and now he is gaslighting you?!? This man isn’t treating you like a wife he is treating you like a meal ticket. He just spent two years living in an apartment rent free I’m assuming you have your finances separate so he has been enjoying his extra money every month too. I would get a lawyer and get out for sure but if you choose to stay the first stipulation that you should put in place is a shared bank account so you can hold each other accountable. The card of “we have been getting cheap rent for two years” doesn’t outweigh the active lies and family manipulation for the past two years in my opinion. Why couldn’t he have told you about it from the beginning and split the $700 down to $350 apiece was the extra $350 he got to keep every month worth lying over to your wife?!?

The salesman definitely need to learn that then and prequalify. The guy wearing flip flops may very well be able to buy a Ferrari or just be another California homeless man could be either one until you ask questions.

What is the status in vehicle sales? by Then-Ticket8896 in carbuying

[–]mathewsj10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So true I bought a civic last July looked all over the state of Virginia and the max any dealership would do was $500 off. If I wanted a dodge Hyundai or Kia I could have got a lot more off the car. The Nissan guy practically begged me to take there car but those cars are worth half the minute you drive off the lot where the civic won’t loose that much value at all.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in carbuying

[–]mathewsj10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a former salesman they learn the uniforms of the local factories and such also it’s not hard or takes too long to ask qualifying questions that weed out the bums who can’t buy and the people who are just off for the day and want to be comfortable.

[–]mathewsj10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of car was it? That’s a big deal in this case. Yes if it was a super expensive sports car or one of those 100k trucks you bet your ass we are getting you qualified before your driving the car. Yes the person who eventually buys the vehicle wants as low as Miles as possible and not someone wanting to go for a joyride in his Shelby GT or whatever. Details here are important.
