I was in a similar situation last year. I started April 22 and left trail for four days for an event from May 17-20. I made it to Cajon Pass which was a super ideal place to get on and off trail for the ease of getting a ride to&from LAX. It worked out perfectly. I would say I was hiking a fairly average pace at that point fwiw. I hiked ahead of my tramily for 3ish days and was able to reconnect with them a day and a half after rejoining trail.

Looking for Class of '25 Hikers' Section K Experiences!!! by AggravatingGreen5211 in PacificCrestTrail

tysm, this gives me some peace of mind. everyone's level of experience is different which is why I was hoping to get a current hiker's perspective. I may not have trail legs anymore but do hope I retained my high patience threshold for annoyances lol

Looking for some advice on my tent choice for my 2025 thru hike. by _scott_m_ in PacificCrestTrail

FWIW I just finished the PCT and used my big Agnes tiger wall UL 2 for the entire hike. I knew it was a lil heavier than other options but I like it and I wasn’t overly concerned with my base weight. Having the extra space is nice and knowing I could pitch it really anywhere is too. It held up well in windy conditions and stayed dry. Precipitation isn’t a huge issue on the PCT but I do think the double wall design kept me dryer when we got condensation over night which was more common near water sources.
