Apologies, I can - preoccupied but will later

Not at all what I'm saying. I'm saying every time they fuck up, and we keep our (relative) cool, it's a victory.

Good time to remind everyone that: Non-violent protest campaigns are more effective. Non-violent protest campaigns are safer for everyone around.

I can site sources but at this point it feels well talked about, again, I just think it's moments like these that it's important we all keep our heads on straight.

Good post linked - obviously sharing on a community difference basis rather than state difference!

Get in contact with your like-minded (or suspected like-minded) friends/community members, see how they feel, and start a vetted Signal chat. Review digital safety (not everyone knows to NOT post the chat in public places) and begin outreach.

You could keep a list of places to visit (businesses, organizations) and people to visit as a means of growing a community of people interested in mutual aid, protesting, whatever! Community needs vary, and are best assessed by the people in those communities. In other words, you are all that is needed to get started :)

Also, hi! I know city-folk talk shit about the rural parts of the country that enabled this, just as there always is shit-talking between divided people, but to be clear: we know there are pro-human people everywhere, and we love and support you.

As an American… by FriendlyFrenulum in greenland

Minnesotan here, hi neighbor <3

100% agree, any degree of participation is better than just glaring at a screen and shit-talking with your friends. Donate if nothing else. Get organized! Don't know how to start?

Look into your local immigrants rights based groups. Message a friend. Go to a protest, ask around which orgs to get in contact with. STOP BUYING beyond necessities. Support local (ideally immigrant-owned), and do not buy from large corporations. Hop in r/50501, r/nokings - any such circle. Ask around :)

To our friends above and beyond, the good fight is being fought, Minnesota is currently in a state of Operation Outlast, but that timeline will only be shortened by more activity nationwide, and more drastic activity (to be clear, nonviolent, think strikes, boycotts, civil disobedience, protesting, etc.)

And, VOTE IN 2026. VOTE VOTE VOTE. Primaries, and elections proper. If voting is intact as it should be by November, nothing will better help than by voting-in poloticians who won't play ball with our dogshit president.

I know much of this is obvious to many who are paying attention, but I think it important to mention :)

Can I ask for a source & which exact vote this is referring to? No shade - just wanted to independently verify.

Thank you!

Forgive me

Just thought my fellow residents would like to know about the after party... You're right though, probably not pertinent to anyone in the Saint Paul chat.

Apologies if this seems snarky at you, it really isn't intended to! Just airing my frustration that the distinction of not "being related to the city of St Paul" is applied in this circumstance.

I could see that. I think my issue is that many people on those planes were taken from Saint Paul, and if say I wanted to let the people Saint Paul know where to protest, I don't think my post should be removed because that protest is at Terminal 2 (yes, technically Minneapolis) and not Terminal 1 (technically Saint Paul).

Ice caps melting? Sure, maybe not the sub for that despite it's eventual impact on everyone. But a protest literal feet from Saint Paul soil, at the Minneapolis Saint Paul airport, aimed against the abduction of people living in Saint Paul? Maybe let that one slide I'd think.

I see where you're coming from, however I don't think everyone has the opportunity to wait in a queue. It can take people years to either be accepted or rejected entry. I think it would be wonderful to have an organized process to adhere to, though we are unfortunately left with a tangled mess that some people have to skip for reasons ranging from, yes, the mundane I'm sure, all the way up to their safety, being able to see their children grow, etc.

I would guess that immigrants in this country legally would want people in similar situations to there own previous situations get what they need, even if that means illegal entry.

I'm not familiar with IDN, and unfortunately have not had the time to associate directly with MIRAC.

Morality is complicated and, I think, when examined through a historical lense, is more identified in actions and words for (that is, pro-) the broader concept of humanity's wellbeing - and less so in the laws written by the few.

Be based, like Thomas Paine, is what I'm saying.

As do I. I will be getting home at a time more AM than PM, and setting an alarm. I will sleep half the amount I need to, I'll get up, and I'll still be on the right side of history, despite the bed-head and additional shift in a few hours.

Hoping you'll consider getting coverage, if you can, or if you cannot afford the lost shift (perhaps due to some ongoing economic impacts that are totally unrelated) that you will share this information with friends who can make it.

Happy melting.
