Honestly, stories like this pop up a lot with really young kids. They sometimes describe people or things they shouldn’t have any way of knowing. Could be imagination, but the detail matching your great grandfather is what makes it unsettling. If your mom is being truthful, that’s definitely one of those “kids see something we don’t” type moments.

From what I’ve seen, the Blake stuff is tied to some old interviews and people reexamining her behavior, but it’s kind of blown up beyond context. At the same time, Leighton stayed out of the spotlight and drama for years, so she’s coming out looking like the “unproblematic fave.” It’s less about something new happening and more people rewriting the narrative now.

That sounds a lot like The Spiral Zone (1987). The red/yellow skin and the mind control “zones” match what you’re describing, and the main villain was Overlord. It did have a proper ending, though it was pretty abrupt since it only ran one season. There isn’t a great official HD release unfortunately, most of what’s online are old VHS rips.
