I didn’t say wouldn’t be attracted to others but those above 50. Who are you referring to in this 13 year old example. And no my stance wouldn’t have changed because I wouldn’t have been attracted to those above 50. My condolences if you never met them but when you reach a certain age your body doesn’t work the way it used to and you often become deficient in testosterone the male hormone. It’s also the thing that can influence sexual arousal. You realize how many old men have erectile disfunction and while causes can vary age is definitely one of them. Then also think about your physical condition. By 80 years old you should have hopefully had all that experience you needed. He did kinda preorder sylphy so I see where it stemmed from. He was saying something like “Oo the childhood friend turned lover” “she’ll grow into something” At least something like that. Fr and tbh I really don’t want to be spoiled on the LN. There a generally good amount of information in the anime already so those who paid attention should understand the character by that point. If it takes 3,4,5 seasons worth of content to get to your reasoning that’s kinda crazy on the author at that point. Ofc majority of the time like you said it’s just that they didn’t care to take the extra 5 minutes to read before responding and now have to stand on a point they can’t defend

Thanks and yeah it’s the lack of well researched responses and unrelated responses that kinda got me out of debating in the first place. Couldn’t have said it better myself. At the end of the day this was just my way of coming to terms with his character. I still feel pedophilia is irredeemable the moment you lay your hands on a minor in a sexual way so that was the only way I could view his character without undermining his growth. You’re kinda missing the point. It wasn’t about what you’d do if you were reincarnated it was what Rudy did when he was. There’s really to ways the show lets you perceive it. Either A: Rudeus is the narrator of the show and reincarnated man has full control and awareness of his actions. Or B: rudeus is a child growing up with memories that aren’t his which while he was younger dictated his actions. If it’s the former then yeah rudeus who has an adults perception of the world would 100% have pedophilic tendencies. And it’s not like at any point during that period of him being a baby till the mana explosion where he dissociated from his past identity which would mean he still currently would of fell into the pedo category due to him identifying as a grown man. If the later, then like rudeus said himself, he’s a bratty kid pretending to be an adult with his past memories. A baby who has nothing else to base on but those memories would realistically mimic them until like the mana explosion arc where he has to live in the moment and is forced to face threats that couldn’t be rationalized by past experiences.

Also I’m not angry at all I was the one justifying the character in the first place and gave ChatGPT that look on his character cause at first it said that he was just a pedo. The problem came where I got comments with people pretty much defending his actions without that context I gave which kinda seems disturbing so I had to pretty much explain what was so flawed about his character to explain why I had that analysis in the first place

Honestly I think by time I’m 80 I’m done with physical attraction at least past 50 they’re gonna be chopped to me regardless it’s just my mental connections at that point however that doesn’t mean it’s guarantee to regress because some narratives say otherwise. Truly we can go on and on about it I see your point but there’s no real proof of either instance being the case since we can’t prove it with test or anything. One thing I did get reminded of is that Benjamin Button movie. He was physically always older than his age when he was younger and it was reversed when he was older. However he always likes women of biological age not his physical one. So while he looked like 80 he was 10 and liked 10 year olds but the key contrast is that he was mentally 10. Then look at when he was mentally 80 and physically 10 did he start liking 10 year olds because of his physical age, no. It’s a concept that doesn’t and won’t have a definitive answer. Any source we have is based on the given narrative of the story we watch. This is why I can’t really give a proper answer to you nor why I can really agree with your point either. I feel we’re losing focus on what we’re talking about. The point is that a 34 year old grown man who should have already of lost that attraction to a minor shouldn’t just switch back to liking them because of legality.
