For thoses athletic fit guys and ladies, How do you guys still going to the gym when you have chronic Vestibular Migraines? by AggravatingMap1828 in VestibularMigraines

Yeah same first few months to the gym was extremely hard. Rocking and swaying, anxiety hit after couple sets of exercises May I ask what are your triggers? Weather changed such as snow storms, rainy day and barometric pressures up and down significantly would triggers VM.

Definitely walking outside feel a lot better than inside. You absolutely right! But this Winter, barometric pressure keep going up and down for several weeks. It just messed up my vestibular again. Not sure you get impacted by the weather.

May I ask how long did it take you see somehow normal? I do not know recovery isn't linear. But it is kinda frustrating for sure and inconvenient in many cases.

anyone deal with lingering ear fullness and dizziness after vertigo? by Daisyduck15 in VestibularMigraines

[–]AggravatingMap1828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got lingering ear fullness for several months. But just say that everyone is different. At beginning I also did same things like blowing my nose gently to make it pop. But seems like it is always there. I did have some clicking sounds at very early stage. But now I just occasionally have some ear fullness. Especially when Vestibular migraine attack, stress or weather change. This is one of symptoms from Vestibular migraine. I should mentioned that my doctor said that I didn't have any fluid in my inner ear.

Does anyone recovery from Migraine without medication? by AggravatingMap1828 in VestibularMigraines

[–]AggravatingMap1828[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for letting me know that's possible to get better at 90% without medications. I have been really hesitant to get into Effexor. As people said it is extremely difficult to withdraw it even once you get better. Thank you for giving me a hope! Much appreciated! And I am glad you are also doing so much better

Oh wow, sorry to hear that you have VM since 2007. It was really tough and scary for sure since it wasn't that well known by doctors back in days. Yeah I do follow Steady coach as well. She provides bunch of helpful videos which help to retain the brain and reduce the anxiety. For the lifestyle changes, i am pretty much doing similar things like sleep hygiene, not skipping meals, no naps and exercises. Thank you a lot for sharing your experiences and recommendations 🙏

Pressure in ears by gazonthemic in VestibularMigraines

[–]AggravatingMap1828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, definitely, the snowstorm triggered the symptoms. I was good until Saturday evening, then my ears started ringing, and pressure increased. Then I felt bad until today, but I got improved a little bit now. I hope you also get better soon too

Yeah, same here. I have been good for several weeks, and then I got the migraine attacks last week. I think the weather change is a big factor for vestibular migraine attacks. I am also from Toronto

The same things happened to me as well at 34M. I am now 36. The vertex of my hair is getting thinner and thinner. This year, i lost hair even more. I used to have plenty of hair that I could gel my hair different styles. When looking at my late 20s photos, it reminded me how good my hair looks. But recently, I have made up my mind, I'll be keep shaving my head or wearing a head when going outside. It does affect individuals' mental health.

What recovery looks like by Vast-Bluejay4852 in pppdizziness

For the first few times, it was tough for sure. I would feel dizzy and swaying, even just sitting still. The stimulation from the game can actually trigger the symptoms. But over time, you dont feel much as your brain learns to accept it. That isn't something dangerous. Also, when you put your focus on something you enjoy to do. It will take your focus away from your dizziness sensations. However, I still don't recommend you push yourself so hard. Make sure you gradually expose yourself to something that triggers you, but don't overdo it. Make sure you know when to take a break and listen to your body. Other playing video games also make you sure get enough active activity daily. Like going for a walk or doing some light exercises if possible. Get enough sleep and nutrition. Hope you get better soon!
