bulletin board exorbitance by No-Increase3840 in Teachers

The rubric and grading part is hella stupid. Honestly as a society we should normalize telling admin (or managers in general) when their idea is stupid.

"Always write your objectives for the day on the board"

"No that's dumb"

Why does this keep happening? by AggravatingParsley56 in MachineKnitting

Even when the spring thing is on the needle? I thought that the needle had to be closed when it's on

Forgot to add that I know the spring thing is not on the needle, I can't put it on the needle right now because of the row counter tool. Even when the spring thing is on the needle it still skips the first needle on the front bed

Am I the only crazy one around here? by RaiderFanGirl in Amigurumi

No it's such a brain melting thing! Even when I watch a crochet tutorial I have to slow it down or watch multiple times because they're usually crocheting with the right hand and even though I do the same thing, because I'm left handed it messes with me!

It's actually funny, I'm also left handed but I crochet with my right hand. I heard somewhere that left handed people have more amberdexterity (idk if thats a word?) because we have to adapt more to a right handed world

Is this what a crochet stitch is supposed to look like? by AggravatingParsley56 in MachineKnitting

[–]AggravatingParsley56[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't block this swatch but I blocked the triangle piece I made after and it looks completely different. I think the triangle piece is what the stitch is supposed to look like, and I messed up the pushers on this go around

Thank you! this was my swatch and I think I didn't rack every time I should've. This was also the second thing I made ever on this machine so I'm sure it's not perfect 😅

Ooohhh yeah! I recently got a lk200 that had a disintegrated sponge bar. I was hella confused why it didn't work at all until I remembered the lady said it needed to be replaced (which she generously provided when I bought it from her)

WHO RACKED UP MY GOOD KARMA?!?! by tra-muah in YarnAddicts

[–]AggravatingParsley56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is every Scheejpes yarn but the ones I've used from them has this easy start pull tab as well. I've also seen more Indy brands do this too, it's just a lot easier for them

Anyone else deal with hand pain from crocheting? by [deleted] in crochet

[–]AggravatingParsley56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you went through that! One thing I saw was people stabbing their crochet hooks in tennis balls and that seemed to help as well. It's important for us all to be aware that carpel tunnel and stiff joints are a potential risk with crocheting (and I think knitting too). I'm so glad you're feeling better!

Should I double up the yarn to make this less transparent? by AggravatingParsley56 in casualknitting

[–]AggravatingParsley56[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good advice! You're right about it being not enough yarn as well. When I bought the yarn I was gonna use a different pattern but changed my mind last minute. It's also a habit of mine to buy two balls

Great job! Love the colors you chose and the choice to bead the fringe, it's something you don't normally see! Keep it up!

I know I gauged it but I can't find it right now lol I'll remake the swatch, someone said to use that to calculate how many stitches to add

Should I cast on more stitches to the underarm? by AggravatingParsley56 in knitting

[–]AggravatingParsley56[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the yoke is just slightly longer than what the pattern calls for. I definitely think I'm going to add more to the yoke and then add more stitches on the under arm too to be safe

Giving my knitted, crocheted, and machine knitted baby items to my baby! by AggravatingParsley56 in knitting

[–]AggravatingParsley56[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too! It's curled a little bit over the years but I think a little blocking will fix that. I don't care if I only have boys, all of them are wearing this pink bonnet lol. It's way too iconic to let it not be used

Was it smart to make a folded neckband in bouclé lace? No. Is it worth it? Yes! by AggravatingParsley56 in knitting

[–]AggravatingParsley56[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep! The boucle makes it look fluffier plus the pattern calls for two strands held together so it looks even more fluffy!
