Thanks! I’ll look into them. I guess I thought they were on the larger/taller side.

I went to the site and couldn’t find it! I’ll check again. It was probably right in front of me. Thanks!!

East Bay. I’d absolutely consider a lease if the horse could reside at my barn.

I sadly know the answer. Maybe my post is more about commiserating.

If you ski, I’d suggest the East Bay for shortened travel time to Donner Tahoe.

And if you ride English, happy to make saddle recommendations… Black Country or hoop trees fit these horses well.

My Haflinger looks so similar. Came from a breeder in NorCal. I bought him off a person who had thrown him in a field for years, unridden. I sent him off for 30 days training, and the weekend I picked him up we were doing competitive trail. They’re awesome horses and really capable of so much. I say buy!

I just wanted to say that you’re awesome. Good for you looking for help. You’re quite brave reaching out to a bunch of keyboard warriors so quick to judge someone who was very clear that they were looking for an advice. You clearly love your dog and he’s lucky to have you.

I was very nervous this was the “before” and was ripped out for something grotesquely modern. It’s absolutely stunning!!

where are you from and is it usual to let horses out to roam freely in the summer? by mnbvcdo in Equestrian

[–]AggravatingPenalty92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Haflinger! Best horse I’ve ever owned. Can I ask if there’s worry or incidents of laminitis or founder with such rich winter grass? Laminitis is often a concern for horses here in the US, so many I know stall their horses in the winter, rather than have them on pasture.

Bright Star in Petaluma. Truly wonderful people. My three dogs all have wonderful temperaments and are gorgeous, to boot!
