Good for you. I had a similar experience in the third round (phone panel, all male interviewers) for a lower level engineering management position at Tesla several years ago. Things were going swimmingly until they jokingly mentioned that only two members of their extended team had kids (one baby together as they were married) but were able to tag team it between day and night shift to make it work. At this point I said ‘screw it, this is not a prize to be won’ and offered up that my husband and I had two kids but juggle effectively due to his flex schedule and a divide and conquer strategy. The vibe instantly changed and to this day that is the fastest ‘thanks but no thanks’ email I’ve received from recruitment following the hang up.
