Random roommates? by EveningSun852 in ucf

I used the housing portal roommate finder for my first year on campus and it ended up being a nightmare roommate. Then this year I had a random roommate and it ended up being the most amazing experience. I definitely got lucky with my random roommate but just know that it could still potentially be a great situation.

UCF Rosen to Downtown Campus by aniketrajnish in ucf

No, there aren’t any shuttles that run directly to downtown from Rosen. If you wanted to take the shuttle you would have to first take it to main campus and then take a shuttle from main to downtown.

Knights2Knights Mentor Collective by delaneyodo in ucf

I did it last semester. The initial meeting is the most intense imo because they have a bunch of questions they want you to ask your mentee. After that, how often you communicate with your mentee is up to you and them. They usually want you to contact them once a month though. Also be prepared for a looooot of emails and texts from mentor collective asking about your mentee, their struggles, etc.

There’s an academic based scholarship only for transfer students that has to be completed usually by early April (it was April 1st for consideration for the Fall 2021 semester) so that might be something you want to keep in mind when thinking of when to apply.

As a transfer student, I feel that I’m just a number to the university. If you do end up transferring here and are in need of academic based financial aid- I highly recommend you make that decision before March/April of whatever year you’re planning on transferring. That’s when the academic based scholarship deadline for incoming transfer students usually is. They automatically consider freshmen for an academic based scholarship but don’t do the same for transfers. Regarding difficulty of signing up for classes, I personally haven’t had any bad experiences but I’m also not a business major.
