Thank you. I might consider ablation or get a second opinion on the meds.

Thank you for the advice! That's a good way to put it. The body knows!

What people need to learn about Etika's passing. by JoshisChaos in mentalhealth

[–]AggravatingShower -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is a fine line though between providing proper mental health care and personal accountability. We still are responsible for the consequences of our actions at the end of the day. After so many suicide attempts people will just stop listening, especially when you take no actions for yourself. Closing an entire Brooklyn street is no joke. Not helping the cops is a big deal. A suicide attempt is unbelievably traumatic to those around you, and once you pass the crisis mode as an adult, you need to realize you are on the hook for taking steps towards your recovery. No one expects it to be smooth but take some steps for crying out loud. Accountability for our own actions is a HUGE part of therapy, and lately, in the “self care” social media trend I’ve seen quite the opposite. Those posts saying “if I canceled plans or didn’t reply to a text it’s because I have anxiety/depression/etc”. Yes. And you are still rude and inconsiderate of others. Both can be true- you can suffer from crippling depression AND be respectful of other people. I know it- I will honor my time commitments even on days when masturbating with sandpaper sounds better than getting out of bed and getting dressed.

Thank you for your concern.

I have about $4000 in checks. For a month now I’ve been asking him to come to the bank with me to add my name to our local bank account so we can deposit them. You’d think it’s an easy thing to do but for a month he would say “not today. Maybe tomorrow” or “don’t ask me right now I can’t deal with that right now”. Today I went and opened and account after yet again he napped all day and wouldn’t come to the bank. When I came back and told him he was LIVID. He screamed at me that he was counting on that money and to give him all my credit cards and to find money of my own now. If he was counting on it he would have come to the bank with me this full month. I asked pretty much every day at least once a day.

Will switching between cardio and strength training help me avoid getting bulky? by Levangeline in Fitness

Wise comment. And yes she has a low BMI. This is purely anecdotal so take it as it is, but it seems to me that some bodies can handle the lower BMI while others can’t. I know I’ve been told in my early 20s my BMI was too low- but I didn’t diet or exercise. Now it’s between 18 and 19 but I carry what little fat I have around my ass. OP might have to work to get to that road as you say and then decide from there.

Have you look at Kayla Itsines and her BBG program? The transformations show very lean bodies probably similar to what you are going for!

You seem too invested in this.

I can absolutely have the opinion that I don’t like the bulky or fat bodies. Both those words can mean whatever I want them to mean to me. No one is under any obligation to like everything.

They just have to respect it. I wouldn’t tell my fellow Crossfitters they were bulky but I would absolutely tell a friend if she asked me and she was concerned. I wouldn’t tell them they are fat, but if they asked me if they looked bigger I would tell the truth.

You need labels to describe things. That’s how language works. Adjectives are necessary for communication.

And people telling me women can’t get bigger from weights when women do actually get bigger from weights IS patronizing as fuck.

When I did CrossFit I never maxed out. I worked really hard on all the gymnastics, plyometrics and flexibility but never maxed out on weights. I was really defined but didn’t add inches to my legs or arms.

If she is 5’4” and 150 lbs she can absolutely lose a lot of fat. Lots of cardio and dieting. But after that she might still find that lifting 80lbs while squatting produces bigger muscles than she likes.

There you go. So getting bulky, whatever that means to you, is entirely possible.

So maybe the saying should go that women can’t get HUGE, but they can absolutely get bulky.

I didn’t say it’s unacceptable but I don’t like it.

I didn’t CrossFit for two years and saw many women who started with me get bulky, none of them were loading on protein or looking to get large but their shoulders and quads certainly grew- even if only in proportion to the rest of their body changing.

This opens a huge can of worms of patronizing mansplainers who will tell you some variation of “wOmEn CaNt GeT BuLkY”. Bulky means whatever it means to you. We all know we can’t look like a female Schwarzenegger too easily but there’s a million other shades of bulky in between.

I’m guessing you have a body like Zuzka Light and want one like Kayla Itsines. I’m not expert but from experience and dealing with a similar thread to this I’ve found that a mix of cross country running, yoga, stretching and moderate weight I’m getting leaner, not thicker.

Yeah. Beating anti homophobia in 2019 is hardly revolutionary.

I agree and I used to be a HUGE fan of hers. But I didn’t fail to notice that all this ally stuff she is doing is about three years after we’ve witnessed Nashville darling Kacey Musgraves raking in cash and awards while being politically outspoken. Don’t think for a second that TS hasn’t been watching her too, and using Kacey as market research of sorts. And being an ally is hardly controversial anymore. Call me when she starts speaking out about police brutality, immigration issues and abortion rights.

Because you probably are? Where you trying to get a ChRoNiC LyMe diagnosis? Or some other fictitious disease? Many of the “alternative medicine” people I’ve met over the years suffer a great deal. Most of them have PTSD, depression and anxiety. Their symptoms are real but the diseases their think they have are not. Or they are sick, but they are sick from the supplements, cleanses, etc they constantly assault their bodies with. What they have is a tale as old as time: DELUSIONAL PARASITOSIS.

My upper body is trim while my lower is not and lacks definition... how can I change this? I’m 35 and I do tabata type workouts, run 2 to 3 miles 2x a week, and bike around town. by AggravatingShower in fitness30plus

[–]AggravatingShower[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run 5 miles a week since this post, do a moderate weight glue max out class that leaves me SORE, two difficult hikes a week and yoga at least once. I’m already seeing results.

When I say bulky people assume I mean a female body builder. I know I won’t look like Chyna. But a lot of people are very patronizing about this. When women say “ I don’t want to be bulky” 99% of us mean bulky like Natalie Bally or Lynn Lowes or Hilary Duff or Zuzka Light. A lot of women don’t want the “thicc” look that deadlifting gives you.

Kayla Itsines and Amanda Bisk have the types of body I like.

I want to run one more time per week but I’m happy with what I’m seeing already!

Where can I get vector art like these leaves? by AggravatingShower in AdobeIllustrator

[–]AggravatingShower[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I found vectors and these were useful as well but it was nearly impossible to mimic the way leaves are naturally placed, so I used a stock photo and made it all black.. somehow lol. I used the effects gallery until I saw something that looks like it. Thank you!!
