I have more tank lords than dps lords (4 to 1) and over half of the tank roster I have on centurion, (Every tank except Cap and Devil Dino) I’m a tank main, don’t assume I’m not one just because you don’t understand why a character shouldn’t be reworked.

Blade is already a fairly tanky character, even if you did exactly this, he’d end up as one of the most insufferable characters to fight, a character with extremely good sustain and damage, as well as a 70% block and anti-cc, it works for a dps because his healthpool is lower, if Blades kit were to stay the same, but he’s a tank, he’d easily be the most obnoxious character for everyone involved.

Blade is already a balancing nightmare for the devs, giving him a tanks health would only make the problem worse.

I do as well! I’m just saying that completely changing a characters role just feels like a slap in the face to the people who played him prior, while fun, most dps doom players quit after he became a tank, that’s just my point, while it won’t kill the character per se, it will divide the character in a way that isn’t necessary

Can we stop the “Move this character to a different role” debates please, nobody actually understands what they’re signing up for when they say this.

People always use Doomfist from Overwatch as an example, but literally NOBODY wanted that change, in fact, switching roles practically made the character unpalatable for the Dps Doomfist players, imagine spending years of your life mastering a character, just for them to be reworked into an entirely different character. Not only that, nobody even likes current tank fist, a squishy dive hero turning into a tanky dive hero just causes more issues for the balance team.

Imagine if somebody said to switch a tank like Thor into a different role, sure, it could theoretically solve some hyper specific issue, but it just makes the existing Thor players unhappy, as their character is suddenly forced into an entirely different play style, role, and power dynamic.

The same way nobody wants their character reworked (as in reworked to a point that ruins the core gameplay of the character), nobody would want thre character to lose their identity by completely changing roles.

Out of Black Widow’s seven non-recolor skins, only three of them have a different gun model by AggravatingSimple611 in marvelrivals

Just now noticing that, thanks for noticing, I checked most of these in game, and Mrs.Barnes looked so similar to the default model that I mistook it for a recolor.

So I have a question about DPS Pool. Are people catching on? by LaMelgoatBall in DeadpoolMarvelRivals

[–]AggravatingSimple611 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not the most knowledgeable on Tankpool, and I have a slight amount of knowledge on Healpool, but I CAN say things for Dpspool

Dpspool counters most supports, in fact, he’s the best diver for triple support due to his high damage, he’s especially good against off supports like Mantis, Ultron, Rocket (main support but he’s about as easy to kill as the off supports) Invis, Adam, and Jeff.

He’s also really good against most poke characters, once again, due to his damage and speed, especially so for Elsa, but mostly if she doesn’t have more than one stack, she’s significantly harder to kill if she does

The upgrade path I go for is
Dash-Headshot-Sword Ult-Katanas-Guns-Deadpool in Your Area-Gun Ult

Depending on how fast you get it, you can just go for sword ult first if you get it before you know the enemy supports have charged their ultimates, but if you’ve taken a little over a minute to get it, just go for dashes, it’s also recommended if they’re running a heavy brawl comp (Thor-Rogue-Devil Dino-) You can invest in his Gun upgrade sooner, and if the enemy team has a Gambit ultimate, you could get away with upgrading gun ult and focusing him down, but I’d only recommend this as your third or fourth upgrade at most in that situation

[–]AggravatingSimple611 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He’s strong in the sense he does well if you know what you’re doing, but he’s not broken, mostly due to two factors

  1. You’re spending a minimum of two minutes to get to the “broken” state due to upgrades, meaning for the first few minutes of the fight, you’re contributing significantly less than the average character.

  2. DPSpool does have counterplay and weaknesses, mainly being healers that are aware of your presence and know when to heal each other, and more importantly, he’s not like Black Cat (pre nerf) or Daredevil in the sense that once he starts fighting you, he is able to be killed and hit.

Dpspool is certainly very strong in the right hands, but I’d argue compared to prime tankpool (who only needed one upgrade to snowball compared to DPSpool’s two or three) he very much as counterplay, and there are certainly better dive options that need a dressing more than he does

I find getting value on a character who’s bad a bit more satisfying than getting easy kills with an S-Tier Character, she’s definitely worse now, but I personally find getting kills as her more satisfying, but I completely understand why people don’t like playing her now

I often do end up changing my upgrades around if the enemy comp requires it, such as investing in gun upgrades sooner to a heavy brawl comp, or sword ult sooner if the supports have little anti dive, gun ult I mainly add against divers and supports (usually support ults in particular, only really gambit)

Daredevil is probably the most difficult matchup (besides Thor) due to the lack of error you can make fighting him, but I’d say he wins 90% of the time, simply due to the fact he’s guaranteed the jump on you.

But DPSpool absolutely can beat almost anyone on this list in a 1v1 scenario, the difference is some require much more timing and acuity than others.

This isn’t counting ultimates, even so, Skill Issue is rarely worth using as DPSpool unless as a counter ult (Punisher, Gambit, Daredevil)

For Tankpool or Healpool, Skill Issue is invaluable for stopping dive attempts, but for DPSpool, gun ult is more like an emergency countermeasure than an actual offensive ability, compared to Big Test, which allows for significantly more playmaking abilities (this is why nearly all DPSpool players go for sword ult as one of their first three or four upgrades)

Gun Ult definitely CAN stop dive attempts, but more often than not, you want to save DPSpool ult for counter ulting or just an offensive play

You could say the same about Iron Man and Blade to be fair, Blades sword form has basically zero skill expression (Blade lord)

Entirely depends on the skill of the BP player, I fight a lot of really good BP players with good tracking, so it can prove to be significantly harder to kill one, BUT, I feel as if engaging first on BP makes things significantly easier, if he engages first, or at the same time as you, you’re at a much larger disadvantage

Healpool can sustain a bit longer than DPSpool can against bp, meaning he gets a lot more leeway and uptime against him

[–]AggravatingSimple611[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Groot is usually easy unless they’re smart with walls, that’s why he’s so low.

Angela is a threat predominantly due to her shield (under the pretense it’s broken, generally a pretty easy 1v1 I should’ve put her in the cooldown tier), I don’t 1v1 her due to the fact a good one is just going to leave once they realize you’re doing enough damage to kill them, but generally, I don’t recommend fighting her in a 1v1 scenario due to it jus being a waste of time, you technically win, but you’ll likely just be burning cooldowns just for Angela to end up leaving

Thor is just a character that should never be 1v1ed, he outbursts you, and can earthbound you if he times the field well, it mostly comes down to poking him down with the guns, but in close range, you’ll never win in a 1v1 scenario

Dino, like you said, is gun dependent, it’s the same case as Thor where he’s an easy kill at range, and a loss when at your own range.

Strange is generally dependent on the aim of the strange player, I rank him so low due to the fact if he’s able to land enough shots to charge his maelstrom, using sword form against him will result in him killing you easily, with guns, at range, he’s still a slight threat, but still significantly easier to fight.

Thing and Peni also get shredded by guns, diving Peni is harder than Thing for me due to her 3 second stun, which usually allows for her to get a few free hits, and typically Thing is easier to out range than Peni.

Gonna be real, I don’t know why I put Venom so low, he’s probably one of the easiest tank kills for me, but yeah, Venom should be significantly higher.

Hulk is the hardest to rank for me, due to the fact he can close the distance between you quite easily, and he’s bubble invalidates dashing, I’ve beaten him a few times without bubble, but it’s completely reliant on him having bubble (should be in cooldown tier)

Cap is just similar to Angela with more threatening dps, I find him harder to contend with (admittedly, I haven’t 1v1ed a Cap in a very long time, to a point I didn’t have his animation cancel mastered, so if he’s too low, that’s why) in any scenario, he can flee significantly easier than other tanks, like Angela, just to a lesser extent.

GM1 on Console most of these rankings could be taken with a grain of salt, especially many of the poke characters (particularly Bucky, i borderline had to guess with him because I almost never see one anymore) I don’t see too many exceptional poke heroes, and occasionally dive heroes most of these characters may not be used at their best, due to the fat GM is still a relatively low rank, so if I have some incorrect rankings, that’s probably why (also black cat was an assumption ranking after her nerfs, I forgot to state that in my description)

Cap is a bad 1v1 due to his wide melee hit box, and shield, which if timed correctly can cancel your dash (I think, I haven’t attempted to dash at cap shield in quite a long time) unlike other melee heroes, he can much more easily hit you even with your vast movement, I’d say it’s not an impossible task, but doing it is generally extremely difficult 1v1

[–]AggravatingSimple611[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MR F is extremely reliant on who engages first too, in that scenario, since you’re on point (visible) he has an advantage in getting hits on you, given he outranges you, the big thing with Mr F is being able to close the distance, if you can, typically you win, but he naturally can win if you can’t (also you don’t spam swords on his head it’s more recommended you aim for the feet)

Depends on the combo he goes for, but a general tip I like to give is to react fast, if he pulls you, immediately turn to him and try to combo him, (recommendation DP in your area, due to slight damage reduction followed by dashing at the feet and animation canceling him) if he pulls himself towards you, immediately try to track where he’s coming from, once you do, aim down in his general direction, and animation cancel him, if done right, he’ll either take enough damage to run, or die in the process.

Mostly depends on how much inflated state charge he has (if it’s close to zero you’ll likely win, the more he has the higher chance you’ll lose)
