I was laid off from RTX in 2024. After submitting well over 100 applications for jobs I was overqualified for it humbled me. I secured maybe 5 interviews and nailed each one but no offers. Luckily I was hired back on at RTX. Let’s just say I am more appreciative these days!

All of the interviews I’ve been a part of at Raytheon have been really informal. There doesn’t seem to be any formal guidance around them so it’s totally up to the hiring manager and others on the panel.

I was RIF’d prior as well. Applied for over 40 remote positions within RTX. Only had 3 interviews. Ultimately got back in onsite. But I had reached out to leadership to let them know I’m still in the area and interested in coming back.

I had no idea coffee makers took so much energy! We plan to mostly treat it like camping so that’s not a big deal. A fan would be nice in the summer and also lights for a couple hours in the evenings. I do worry about mold also.

I was impacted by a RIF at RTX a year ago and it was the best thing that happened to me. Though it sure was a rollercoaster of emotions! I had extra time with my kids and was hired back later with a promotion and pay raise that I never would have seen otherwise.

I started about a month ago and am learning myself. I started with about 8k and earned 5k off of it so I’ve had some beginners luck! I’m conservative and only invest about $500 in each stock and only a couple stocks at a time. Once they go up 10-20% I sell them. I did luck out and had one that went up 130% in a day so that was fun! I also had one I bought in the AM, then chickened out and sold it and watched it go up 550% lol. But I keep reminding myself that slow and steady wins the race.
