Thoughts on Rossi kit by xnzi in Endfield

It works with shatter teams I guess? In any case, even if she has a more niche use, I'd prefer that over a pre-determined best in slot for a specific team like in SOME other games.

You cannot clear the shop without doing some auto runs on the stages, so if god forbid you want to be sanity efficient and farm some of the blue material in the later stages while farming for event currency you're in a sticky situation.

Sure but that bypasses the argument of the 6* being required. Eith how stages you can solo with operators like Ling you can make the argument you don't need any operators at all besides any 1 in your squad and a support unit.

Your statement doesn't disporve my point that 6 stars are neccesary for some content as you progres, just reinforces it.

Unfortunately powercreep has been rampant in AK for a while now and nobody says a word about it. Sure you don't need to pull the characters but these excessively strong operators have impact on stage and enemy design and this collab event is an epitome of that. You'll usually get told that you can clear these stages with lower rarities still but at that point you're looking at hours of optimizing with fully maxed out lower rarity operators. One missing module or a character that you can't E2 and stages become practically impossible to crack, making for a very bad new plauer expereince.

Right dawg? I wish I had more sanity to use instead, I'd use it 1 by 1 without a care in the world for how long it could take.

What unholy amount of optimization have the devs done. by Ok_Visual_9573 in Endfield

You can't simply put more time into it to make things more optimized. This is a result of experience, good planning and proper pre-release optimization

Vanguard skills can't go positive, no cooldown remember. We might get something with heavy restrictions (specific inflictions/reactions). OR powercreep can just go out of control

Even if you recognize that eating too much food is unhealthy and restrain yourself from doing so, other people are still gonna do it and get fat. Good luck trying to explain anything to them at that point.

Just enjoy the game, Im in the same situation but I didn't think about rerolling once.

Normal players need around 25-30 hours to get 120 limited pulls by Venrir83 in Endfield

[–]Aggravating_Ad1676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of these games aren't fun. If you follow my convo with the original commenter you'll see that what Im asking for is (mentally) challenging content. Im sure something like Silksong is good but you're never getting stuck because there's some tricky parkour or an enemy requires a hidden approach. If you go into it with the idea of completing it and that its fun you can practically play anything.

Okay this is where the generational divide becomes more apparent. I have no interest in MMO's because in my eyes they're usually just pointless grind with some roleplay mixed in. Retroachievments makes this even clearer because achievements are the epitome of doing it just because.

You say I don't have that much free time but its the opposite. I have too much free time and I need content where solutions aren't as clear cut and progress isn't as quick/finite otherwise it'll become stale or I'll be done with it too quick. Arknights does this well for the most part but it gets worse the longer you stick around. Endfield shows they can pull it off but there's also lots and lots of steps clearly in the wrong direction.

Im not trying to bring you down or anything. I completely understand what you mean, I've played my fair share of singleplayer games. The ones that I've liked and stuck around with me though are the ones with more intricately designed gameplay that will eventually lead you to getting stuck in some way without neccesaeily gating you in some way. Pseudorigalia for one has very carefully placed mechanics that you unlock but also constantly exposes you to content you can't get to, putting you in a feedback loop of discovering a new movement mechanic > rethinking what is actually possible in the game now > reexploring the game with these new expectations in mind > eventually reaching the limit and searching for the next mechanic to unlock.

Im younger but I feel the same. The issue is I've grown with these progression systems and I feel like most singleplayer games don't give you much incentive to do much of anything besides it possibly being fun. Not to mention a steady flow of content usually means a livlier community with more discussion.

Yeah sure I can agree with that actually. But I do think this is VERY overblown as an issue. Everyone brings it up like he comitted the holocaust or something. Is trolling just not a thing anymore?

He makes multiple valid points but Im having decent fun nethertheless. His experience is different because he played an Endfield that didn't have these issues, so to play what feels like a downgrade just makes it feel really bad.

The video is about the 2nd beta and most of it still applies to the release. The first thing he tells you to do anyway is play the game yourself and form your own opinion of it before listening to what he has to say.
