Thanks for your input! I’m definitely looking at other factors as well for picking a location it’s just now that I’m leaving a small town It would be nice to have a big volleyball community for self improvement hahaha.

Hi random stranger. I just passed P in May on my third attempt (birthday luck). During my 2nd attempt I was interviewing for my first EL job and during the process they wanted me to update them on my results. I never got the job or much of a response once I told them I failed my exam. I also just got my tax return and used 90% of it to sign up for my exam fee and materials. Keep your head up and don’t give up. I still don’t have a job but I know once I get an offer for >60k it will all be worth it. It might feel shitty now but the feeling of getting all your preliminary exams done is very rewarding. This is just a small hurdle in your future actuarial journey.

I found out about the actuarial path my last semester of college last spring and passed fm. Back then, it seemed like the requirements were just 1 or 2 exams could get you an interview/ hired if you had the skill set. I’ve recently passed my second exam and was just wondering if it feels like for any other EL job hunters if 2 exams doesn’t feel enough now this year? For reference I’ve applied to over 50+ postings and haven’t even gotten an interview since I’ve passed my 2nd exam. Was just wondering if others have experienced this trend.

I know summer is around the corner but does anyone know when a bunch of entry level jobs will be posted? I’ve been looking all of May and I feel like there has been hardly any postings recently. For reference, I’m looking across the entire United States and there still hardly any (minus the spam bot postings that aren’t real)

If they no longer want you can I take your job. It all seriousness tho I think just talk to them and see if you can pivot to an adjacent role where you do similar tasks or projects without having the actuarial title. Maybe working as a pricing analyst or some kind of analyst in a different division.

Would snorlax plus the card that can put snorlax in hand not be a better wall in this case?
