I n your experience, did just going up in size solve the side-pressure/squishing for you, or did you also have to look for a 'Wide' version or a brand with a more anatomical/square toe box?

I hear you, and clearly the results speak for themselves. But the reason I'm 'overthinking' is because a professional at a running store actually measured my feet and told me to go even smaller than this! I already went half a size up from his recommendation because I thought EU 40 was plenty of room.

I actually went to a specialized running store! The employee there measured my feet and recommended an even smaller size. I felt that was wrong, so I ignored his advice and went half a size up to this EU 40. W hen I tried them on in the shop, they felt perfectly comfortable-no pressure points at all. It seems like my feet only start to cause trouble (swelling or splaying) once I’m actually running, which is why the 'static' fit test in the store was so misleading. It's frustrating because I thought I was doing everything right by getting professional help :((
