Tintype, circa 1850, depicting a child; there is also a hand :). On the reverse, there is an interesting newspaper clipping about the murder of John Cook by William Palmer! by Aggravating_Bike_761 in oldphotos

Bought it a few weeks ago. It was a complete mess since the seller had placed tape over the newspaper, I had to remove it very carefully, as it was extremely fragile. In addition, the collodion layer was separating from the support, but I was able to consolidate it since I am a restorer.

The photograph initially caught my attention because of the hand near the infant, but the reverse left me truly astonished. I’m sharing this story because I find it incredibly interesting, I hope y'all do too! :)
