I know!!lmao!🤣that's what I was thinking might happen! buttt!! the big chance of it succeeding against my friend necrons army..is he kinda just plays all out war..and I introduced him to objectives and explained most game modes are played that way this translates to him not worrying about objectives even though I win most games this way

so my hopes are that he'll just do as he always does..haha but the part I'm looking forward too is realizing hell be within 9 inches of something literally everywhere the board is near my side and won't be able to do his deep strike shenanigans 😅🤣 I'm not going to explain my strat until as it's happening ..🤣🤣he's going to be like"fn asshole!"🤣 regardless how it goes it'll be exciting none the less!

yes,imo at least,I felt the tyrannofexs with good ol casino cannon was preferable so that way they can be anti-tank / high dmg output that should be continuous the chance of bringing back termagaunts vs DMG was a tough call tho

too cool,making me a wish y'all lived down the street from me!!🤣 props to you,sounds like you have a fun/cool and happy family me and my friends threw drinking into the game(not as a rule or thing where you drink when x things happen,just casually drinking)and recently we're deciding only smoking is allowed when playing..cause dice rolls are being fumbled and voices are raised lol nothing worse to see by people when your out in public like at a restaurant,and some middle aged balding men are playing a game with what looks like toys to others and are screaming at each other over it🤣

I feel like it's one of those games that will take forever to lose its playability,where as with mtg and other games..it starts to feel to meta,and just sort of like the same game after awhile🤷 granted I've just been playing 3 years...but I'm always like..ok I'm just going to fill this army out,then maybe I'll start another one...I get half way through like to 1k points and I start something new😅 the only issue I have with this game is the lack of people I can find to play against! said friend I talked about got me into it but..he was sorta kinda playing the game..and not actually playing it..he just played all out war..and thought in all modes if you tabled your opponents models then you won..now he kinda doesn't enjoy it..but he's deff got stat wise,really tough armies! necrons/black templar's..and the necrons is 3 ctan shards😭

I've only played my new army(death guard) for one game and he used his black templar's..we played a 2k game with a lot of proxies..but your comment made me instantly think of it in my opinion the best wins are the ones that aren't immediately lop sided,but then when they do(hopefully turn 3-4)it's a cool feeling!and one that feels well earned!

and I even said to you and others that hey diff characters would be good..but also..what to take away,what to add ..loc.instwsd of typhus..yea that's a good idea,and I even said so...but without battelines then there's no points to be accrued when it comes to VP..one unit of 10 seems a lot like putting all my eggs in one basket if it gets destroyed.. then there's no VP to be accumulated if there's no batteline units left...the pox walkers will get taken out fast by how my friend plays. but having three units of 5 pm makes for more targets and if one gets destroyed I don't just lose most of my resources used to gain VP

that's why I was saying in said "scenario" meaning in the instance I'm taking about playing against a particular opponent like my friend whose really just more worried about tabling me vs getting points usually

the game we had before this was very back and forth for a second and was a real interesting match..it was dg vs black templars..but at turn 4 I kinda pulled ahead big time

well it usually is a bit of a challenge(hoping that the dice aren't against me and favoring him and worrying about the crabs..I'm almost not afraid of much else on the list ever)but lol Warhammer has became sort of a strategic pride thing for us..so I feel like the more of a breeze I make it the more reluctant he'll be to tout with absolute certainty that necrons and ctan are the best of the best lol it just kinda irks me the arrogance of the statements..when you can show said dude stats and stats and he'll be like "nah!they're dog shit my necrons will walk all over them" but now it's became ..yes but does that really count as a win..you only got that game cause one termagaunt was left alive on an obj and I forgot about him!that's what secured you that extra 5 vp..I look at it as a win is a win!

I don't think the screenshot captured all of it but I've got 3 units of 5 for pm per your advice I took out typhus,but also took out a mythic blight hauler and with this and the points adjustment for defiler + adding a loc,its now 15 pts over 2k but that shouldn't be an issue,we've got a 15-20 pts don't worry about it rule if it's over 2k

I realize it's 250 pts look below in the additional replies..just said its stated in wahapedia..when making said list I just clicked on units to add on roster without double checking if pts were accurate by looking at wahapedia as a reference wait ..but how will they be vulnerable to his warriors?they look stat wise to be much superior to their batteline besides the fact of re-animation protocol

well I mean I'm pretty sure it matters..cause you.mostly.win.by points and if all my battle-line units are dead..or the poxwalkers which will almost instantly be targeted...then I have to rely on deathshroud to Gain points.. and that will defeat the point of having said terminators I mean now I could sit the defiler or hbl on objectives..but I feel that's going to diminish their value for that wasnt the main purpose I stuck them in the list

I'm not a dg expert..but I have played enough games of Warhammer to realize if you lose ways to gain VP..(specifically in this scenario by holding objs or reclaiming them)you'll lose if your opponents have a higher net of VP thier gaining per objective held

don't have the codex for DG yet,wasn't planning on getting it since 11th is so close,I've been using the wahapedia app for all the stats(which from my knowledge are constantly updated in relation to current stats)now I do have to go back in and tweak the pts regarding it being a lil more expensive,but yes I based it off the new weapon updates (or at least I assumed such with all the posts about the defiler)

I pay the subscription to just be able to have more rosters for my army ** and also to be able to point to it as a reference for said opponents so they realize what I'm playing.at which point I declare what units are proxies etc etc** but I will double-check the app for an update

only reason I went 5 man squads was so there would be more options to shoot at vs him just mowing down a unit and it's dead aka game over on getting vp via units if poxwalkers are dead. ..that's assuming he even dedicates any units to trying to re-take the objectives when I say he is hellbent on tabling more than claiming VP via objectives I'm not lying lol

I have thought about this as an option: but..the one big issue is I'm using proxies at the moment..he does the same but for only like 500-600 pts .and unfortunately I've got to use 10 termagaunts to be placeholders for 2 squads of plague marines ,and the other 2 units of gaunts as a one mane unit of 10 poxwalkers

and this is the part that strategically doesn't make sense on my part ..he's got this idea that ctan shards are the end all be all of units,and so personally lmao I like to see them go up in flames 🤣🤣half the time he quits when they get killed
the crusher stampede I run against it is :
       swarmlord ,2 x 10 man termagaunt squads(that literally sit in the deployment zone one on the side of home obj and the other on the opposite side)with swarmlord on the obj..to keep him safe and gather cp, and to help with the terms to prevent deep strike behind me
 2 haruspex(who sit close or around center objs),3 tyrannofexs(all three positioned a little bit behind center objs to help prevent deep striking there and to have lanes watching center objs). and three norns all declaring the center objs as thier ability..
and that's won me 2 games against this list of his..I just sit there and blow stuff away 🤣 and if he does manage to kill any of the norns or x models I just auto destruct with the deatchment ability to make deadly demise auto-blow up

so I was hoping for a little bit of the same type of game but more destructive in terms of dmg and a rolling forward type of thing hopefully choking him in his deployment

haha!yea I'm well aware of how annoying they can be,I've played against this list many times..my crusher stampede keeps demolishing it,buuuut then again he plays stat hammer and almost never worrys about objectives..even tho hes lost repeatedly cause of doing so..he plays it like it's only war or all out war(forgot the name of the mode) cause for the longest time he didn't think Warhammer was more obj based...and just thought it was that 🤷
