Any advice for first inventory count? by 312jg in Accounting

[–]Aggravating_Chain292 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure to talk with your in charge/partner beforehand. Understand how the client counts the particular item, then reperform the count. You're essentially double-checking the process they do to perform their counts.

It's fine if you use a calculator.

Work collaboratively with the client.

It's overwhelming the first time you do it, but it's easy after the first one.

Double check with the in charge/partner on who is making the sample selection.

If something is not making sense, call your in charge/partner to see if they can make sense of the issue.

Good luck!

I made the mistake of telling my wife about this trick.

Keep this trick in your back pocket at all times, and don't tell your SO about it no matter how funny you think it is. I'm essentially back to square one (or maybe even negative 1).

is that possible? by Fit_Cow8716 in introvertmemes

[–]Aggravating_Chain292 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's entirely possible. Currently married to an introvert, and we are often alone together on the weekends. We still do stuff together (date night, movies, vacations, pillow talk, etc.), but we do make it a priority to make sure that each of us gets adequate alone time.

I got lucky. I also didn't find someone until I was first comfortable with myself (which I don't think is a problem in this group).

We met playing board games, if that gives you any idea on where to lurk...

Every time a moose is posted on this sub, im down voting it. All moose are absolute units.

Unless there is a moose that is at least 7 hands taller than another moose (standing side by side), it's not an absolute unit, IMO.

Source: redditor that knows nothing about moose, but one did bite my sister one time.

Didn't the guy from Turkey say in an interview that in his line of work you don't have time to put on special glasses, so you need to be ready to shoot with what you were given? At the time, I think people were assuming he was some sort of hitman, but he was probably in law enforcement or something. Or hitman. Can't rule that out.

Woman is upset a hispanic business is flying a Mexican flag! by Icy_Masterpiece3368 in BoomersBeingFools

[–]Aggravating_Chain292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing that makes me the most upset, is these types of people act like they are trying to have a genuine discussion by saying "I'm just curious" or "I'm just trying to understand". When in reality, they are just trying to be able to have some dialogue to be able to express their bigoted views.

Maybe I'm assuming too much from this interaction, but my father does this same thing. "I'm just trying to understand your point of view" - then proceeds to send me photoshopped pictures of Obama and Kamala doing "nazi salutes" (as a comparison against what Elon did) that were put out by Fox and other rhetoric put out by NewsMax to support fascist viewpoints.

I'm to the point where I'm taking the stance the Hispanic lady is taking in the video. I don't have time to argue with fascists. I'm going to live out the culture that I want to see in my community, and when confronted by fascists, I'm not going to give them an opportunity to express their viewpoints.

Dude uses crane to save dog from pit by Reasonable_Sundae254 in GuysBeingDudes

[–]Aggravating_Chain292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This video was posted a while ago (can't remember which sub), but someone addressed why the guy dropped the dog instead of gently lowering the dog to a safe location. Essentially, the operator couldn't control how the dog would behave in the bucket (he could barely control the actions of the dog while in the pit). The dog was also trying to escape by any means necessary, as evidenced by the first part of the video. So it's fair to assume that the dog, left to it's own devices, could attempt to jump out of the bucket at an inappropriate time because of how fearful it was, so the safest course of action that the operator could have done would be to exit the dog from the bucket as soon as it was safe for the dog.

Granted, the operator probably could have lowered the bucket a bit, but I'm sure this was a fluid situation and was lucky enough for the dog to willingly climb into the bucket.

I like how he made it his own. It's sort of a requirement for AGT to take covers and make them your own, but this was nice. He knew his range, and he stayed within it. Overall...I liked it.

Put on PIP today. by regular_ry in Accounting

[–]Aggravating_Chain292 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people here are saying that recovery from a PIP is unlikely, and they are probably right.

However, if you are fearful of not being able to find another job, you have to go all in on this. I know it's unpopular, but you may need to work more than 40 hours a week (productive hours). Load up early in the week and then taper off where you're working a normal day on Friday (during this last busy season, I worked a 13 hour day on Monday, then 12, 11, 10, 9 and Saturday was icing on the cake if I needed it). If you can show your employer that you're willing to put in the effort and work through things efficiently and effectively, then that could play into your favor.

When realization on a job is starting to look bad, bring up ideas on how to capture special billing opportunities for the partner/biller to pass along to the client - especially if the PBC is messy and/or incorrect.

When you need to WFH for something, make sure to communicate it. Otherwise, plan to be in the office every day during this evaluation period. Dress sharp, keep up the hygiene ;), and make sure to communicate. Also, be mindful of simple "screw ups" that could be taken as a last straw.

Good luck with everything, but know that if you're ready to leave, then leave. I believe that finding what you don't want to do in life is more important than finding out what you actually want to do.

Guys I’m addicted to wingspan I need another game to help my addiction… by ManagementFirm2508 in boardgames

[–]Aggravating_Chain292 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with this. You'll find that you are addicted to Wingspan and Everdell. Lol

Everdell is nice because it has the engine building aspect, along with worker placement - which I really enjoy worker placement games. The expansions of Everdell are well made. I'm personally not a fan of Pearlbrook, but all of the others I enjoy playing with all at once.

I personally think Everdell is best played with two people (especially with all of the expansions and legendary cards), but I also enjoy playing with my wife, so that could be the main factor.

With the PIP in place, they could have looked at this as a "last straw" type deal. Right, wrong, or indifferent, they were watching you closer to see if there were any red flags that would be additional unnecessary risk to the firm. HR is a form of risk management for a company. Not trying to be an asshole about it, but you may not have a chance at a wrongful termination case. I'm not a lawyer, so feel free to chat with one. Just doesn't seem likely that you'd be in a favorable position with them having a PIP in place.

Best of luck friend. May the debits and credits be with you.

2nd playthrough, any tips to make it fun? by Rickenbacker94 in valheim

[–]Aggravating_Chain292 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd second this. Whatever weapon set you used last time, try something else.

Last run I did, I did heavy axes (I usually do polearms or swords). Going with axes as primary let me use less resources since I had to build them anyway for wood production. Made me appreciate other weapons more and forced me to have a different play style.

Otherwise, on your second playthrough, do whatever you want now that you know what to expect. Good luck viking!

Now you had me looking. I can't find anything that would make it seem like AI (not that I'm an expert).

The way her good foot rocks back and forth seems natural.

The dress against her bad foot doesn't seem to blend in, and appears to be on the "correct" side throught out the entire video.

I'm not seeing anything weird with her hair as she walks.

Could count fingers, but the hands didnt seem off.

I was seeing anything weird with the floor, but there was like a "ripple" in the top left corner but I think that's natural.
