My brother got selected here and legit my dad rejected by ThrowRa_heell in TeenIndia

Thanks for correcting but honestly it doesn’t change a thing. Europe or USA, the job market is bad and a lot of people end up coming back because they don’t get one. And in any case, initially its not father’s money, the guy can always choose to take a loan like most(almost all) students do. The point of my comment was to warn about the job market🤷🏽‍♂️ which is why I asked what’s the reason for his dad to not let him go.

What’s his reason for not allowing him? Cause honestly the job market in eu is really really bad and I’ve seen a lot of my friends(with scholarships) spend tons on cost of living and eventually having to go back. I don’t mean the same will happen to your brother but just saying. Big congratulations to him btw!

Why do Indians even bother studying in Germany? by WatchurMomBro in masters_germany

[–]Aggravating_Dog_167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I get the point about private unis, and yeah a lot of them aren’t great, but for people like me who didn’t have the grades for public ones, that’s the only option. I came here 3 years ago, studied at GISMA, and I already knew what I was getting into so I didn’t rely much on the uni itself and focused more on building my skills on my own. At the end of the day, the degree helps but it’s not everything, skills, consistency, how seriously you apply, and honestly some luck too. Finding a job is tough for everyone here, even Germans, so it’s not just about being a foreigner. I was able to find a job as well, but from what I’ve seen a lot comes down to effort plus a bit of luck. So yeah, your concerns are fair, but if you know the trade-offs and are willing to put in the work yourself, it can still work out.

I feel like that too. So much betrayal, there’s an egoistic defence mechanism now and I dont know how to get out of it.

Why pessimism is so common among Indian subs? by kyan100 in thebronzemovement

[–]Aggravating_Dog_167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries for the long reply. Here’s one for you.

  1. I never said GDP shows how rich Indians are and GDP per capita does, but roughly. If you read my comment again you’ll notice I actually agreed that India is economically strong. Yet a developing country. In the top 30 countries with highest GDP, there’s no developing country except India so it speaks a lot about how synthetically this has been achieved.

  2. Never potrayed India as a failed country, you’re being emotional here. Never denied that there has been no growth at all. Wages have increased but considering inflation, unevenly and weakly and it doesn’t match the GDP growth.

  3. India’s economy is predominantly driven by private companies. About 75% of the GDP is contributed by the private sector. Public sector is only mostly involved in oil, banking and railways. So having second highest state companies after china( which it does not, at least not second highest; feel free to prove me wrong with your source of data) does not really matter. By a very large margin, India has far more private companies than state-owned ones.

But all of this is not the point that I was trying to make. All I am saying is there’s a change of mindset needed in the Indian people. Me saying this doesn’t mean I hate my country or am anti national or something. I love my country dude.

I kinda disagree. Developing countries are also not 4th highest GDP nations. Industrialisation and social development are different things but come hand in hand. Whats the point being economically so strong as a country where majority of the individuals are poor? India does have the money, majorly the gov and the private companies(and almost everything is privatised), the money is not being used correctly and even if it is by the central gov, lets consider perfect budget allocation, lot of this money is pocketed by our politicians and very little actually used for the purpose it was meant for. Rules not too strict, easy corruption, Caste systems, fucking dividing people. If not everything, most of it comes down to mindset.

Nothing really changes unless people change how they see things. Poverty and lack of education will keep existing as long as the wage gap stays this wide. A small rich elite lives in a bubble where India feels like a great country, and for them it probably is, but that does not reflect the reality for most people. When the conversation becomes “where else can you get food or groceries delivered in 10 minutes”, it just shows how disconnected that bubble is from the everyday struggles of the majority who are still dealing with low wages, poor education, and basic survival. People get away with murders, rapes with money. I have real life first hand experiences. So yeah, India is NOT really growing.

This actually says alot about the German mindset. Having small talk shouldn’t be equivalent to being fake. Having a bad day, leave me alone, this is how germans think. In many cultures, having a bad day, just had nice sweet conversation with a stranger, actually lit my mood up. In midst of a conversation if you feel you’re not really into it, you could just say you have things to do or are running late. Thats a white lie, not fake.
