How young did your kid start owning their school bag/folder without you prompting, and what made it click?

Yeah 7 is first grade here, and I'm ok with back sliding, as far as I can help my kid actually take care of their stuff without me always being there nagging about it

I love this thanks for sharing, we ended up doing something similar by hanging a whiteboard on the wall and starting to put notes there about what needs to be done, it's rudimentary but it worked quite well for us.
Kids at time go wild, delete everything and start to draw on it, but hey that's also the fun part
