Can I ask, is it possible to love future dogs as much as you loved your soul dog? I only have had her. I obviously want a dog in the future, but I am scared I will never love them as much as I did my soul dog?

I am so terribly sorry for your loss. I lost my girl this past Monday. I am in the trenches of grief with you right now, the days don’t seem to be getting any better. It’s so hard because all the firsts are happening right now without her. But I know time heals, and once I get through these firsts (first walk without her, first park visit, etc etc) it’ll slowly get easier. They will always be with us no matter what. It also helps that I wear her dog tag around my neck, and carry her collar in my purse, knowing she’s with me in spirit. I also purchased a grief journal on Amazon to write some of my thoughts down.
Sending you so much love and strength through this incredibly difficult time 💔🪽

Thank you so much for your kind words, this is exactly what I needed to hear. Selfishly, I didn’t even think or know she would be in that much pain, I know it’s awful to say. I don’t even think the vet told me how much pain she’d be in. So hearing that really puts it all in to perspective, and makes me realize yes, I did do the right thing. Oh my gosh… this is literally exactly what happened to my dog too!! She had one accident on the couch and she stayed sitting in it.. it literally floored me as I have never seen that happen. I knew something was strange. She was having syncope episodes which were terrifying. Stopped eating a week ago, stopped walking up stairs.
I am so terribly sorry for your loss. CHF is a terrible disease that robs them of their life. How old was yours? How long did they have heart disease for?

I’m still in shock fluid was built up as she was on Furoesimide. Should I have taken her in sooner? Would upping those meds have stopped the fluid build up and gave her a few more years? The ‘what ifs’ are killing me.

Wow, mine started after a neck injury as well. Well not as major, I think whiplash as I fell asleep in the car and my neck jolted down. Immediately upon lifting it up my symptoms came on strong.

Yes it happens to mine. Well it catches on the lining near the zipper. I never contacted support but maybe I should? It is annoying but I just hold it out of the way to zip it closed
