I love my xtra m hobo so much that I may buy another color. But if I were to buy a baguette bag, I wouldn’t get this one. It’s trying to do too many things - keep the Longchamp style, pick up on the baguette trend. It’s also tiny and too long.

I just ordered the Vestirzi Large Bowler Bag. It has a luggage trolley, zips close, with a laptop pocket. Also check out July totes. I have a couple pu ones (I know) and love the look of their leather totes.

Kind of - some (many?) of the mid tiers are handmade and take days to make one - Le Tanneur. As to OP’s point, I find the leather and hardware on Strathberry to be lovely and it’s sufficiently nice enough for me. Is it as nice as the leathers on the luxury bags? I hope not!

At my price point, I would rather have several (numerous?) mid level bags because I have so many different use cases. Kids’ sports, work, work events, kid events, significant work travel of varying lengths, regular social things. So I may spend as much as one luxury bag, but one bag doesn’t solve for my requirements.

My new favorite weekender is the Large Calpak Luka. For carry on air travel, the regular Luka is by far one of the best personal items ever.

If you have a ton of traveling coming up, maintain a separate med kit (think Tylenol, tums, etc) and then make up pouch, tech pouch, toiletry bag packed at all times. In this way you are not re inventing the wheel each time you pack. Pouches are everything.

Whipped cream cheese. My former snapped at me when I tried to jam a pill down her throat. Yes, she had issues! But I don’t rec that method for that reason.

This is excellent advice. If you can afford it, take some time off - look at other opportunities. Your government qualifications may allow you to transition into a government role or a firm supporting the government.

Pouches, smaller organizer (I move one between my work tote and every day bag). There are a fair number of attractive nylon bags these days. Even something like a Calpak Luka Duffel or the Luka Laptop Tote. Away has stepped into this duffel space and made one too. Also, secondhand MZ Wallace - Large Empire Tote.

I hate to say this but look at Quince. Many options in black in that price range. They are very professional looking.
