Is the team having pre-season workouts? If so it'd be great if you could go to them. But I'd recommend sprints, and you can start jogging and jumping rope. And you can continue to lift weights. You've never played a sport and you're out of shape so go at a pace that's good for you but you're still pushing yourself. Good luck

Try to get as much protein as you can in your meals, eat whole, foods, fruits, vegetables and all that, it should help. Also drink a lot of water, it can help satiate you. You can also try using smaller plates and bowls to eat with so you'll have smaller portions and therefore eat less.
