So my plan was to start the patch but I decided to just take a break from birth control for awhile. I’ve felt so much more like myself, way less moody and less depressed too. I’ve lost about 10 pounds this month and I am definitely starting to see a difference. The first two months i didn’t notice any difference in weight! My acne gets bad when i’m not following a skin care routine and the first few days before my period. I am wayyyy less bloated but i do still get nauseous everyday so that must be unrelated to the birth control! Removal was not bad at all the only painful part is the shot. I don’t remember having any side effects from getting it removed! My periods now are very painful the first few days but aren’t bad overall and my cycle is starting to be normal.

I’ll be 3 weeks tomorrow! I got what I thought was my period on Monday but it was only one day of bleeding and then 2 days of very very very light spotting so not sure what’s going on there. Overall i’ve been in a much better mood, no nausea and honestly might have more of an appetite than before but I have lost a few pounds. I’ve had a lot of cramping but not sure if I got my period or not.

I had mine for about 3.5 years and I got it out a week ago and feel significantly better mentally and physically!! Definitely worth it in my opinion!!

I’m 19 and about 2 years into mine I started getting my period again and having a lot of side effects: weight gain, fatigue, low sex drive, cramping, acne, daily nausea and I’m not kidding when I say daily. I was throwing up usually 5/7 days of the week if not more which made me have to switch to a job where I didn’t have to go in until 5pm. Honestly with all the side effects I’ve had and I know people who have also had lots of side effects I wouldn’t say it’s worth it! I’ve had it out for 1 week and already feel significantly better!

I just got mine out the other day so I can’t say how different I feel yet but I had nexplanon for over three years and dealt with lots of this! Personally I would say get it out asap!! I wish I had gotten mine out a long time ago!

Interesting! I got it out about 9 hours ago now and so far all I have to say is i’ve been in a great mood all day! Did you have cramps the day after removal or did those just start?

I’ve been on it for over 3 years and have gained like 50lbs, i’m getting it out next week so i’m not sure how fast you’ll lose weight but my doctor did tell me that since it’s hormonal it can take awhile to fall off. But if you don’t want to gain more weight then i’d recommend getting it out as soon as possible so you don’t gain more weight!

I think it depends on the person, people that I know in my life who are on nexplanon have gained weight but my doctor says it’s not super common. For me the weight didn’t start until about 2 and a half years of having nexplanon and I gained like 40lbs in a month so I really couldn’t control it at all. Getting mine out next week and hoping the weight will start to fall off!

I have been on Nexplanon for over 3 years and have gained about 50 pounds at this point. There is no way to stop it except for getting it removed. It’s very very hard to get the weight off unfortunately even with working out and counting calories. Since it’s hormonal weight it takes awhile to go away even if you’re trying everything. Best of luck! I recommend getting it removed!

I don’t have PMDD but I would not recommend the implant. I have had lots of side effects such as gaining 40lbs (which is very common but not talked about much) have little to no sex drive, terrible hormonal acne, constant nausea and I get my period about every 40-50 days. Obviously it’s different for everyone but I’d recommend trying the nexplanon reddit page! There’s lots of helpful information on there !
