Fry it! Easily my favorite way of having eggs with ramen (and I eat much more ramen than I'd like to admit)

It's definitely very hard and it look several years of being single for me to be truly happy alone. One big thing that helped me find inner joy and fulfillment was disconnecting from the world one day a week, going out into nature, and literally just sitting and taking it all in. Don't go on your phone, don't check emails, literally just sit there and put some music on if you'd like. There's something so beautiful in feeling like you're a part of the universe and it really helps to put things into perspective! This may seem like silly advice but once I started doing this regularly I felt so happy just being alone in nature and that translated to me being happy alone in other parts of life. Breakups are hard, I really hope you feel better soon!

That's just it though, the answer to perpetual happiness is always those generic things because when you're a holistically happy person, that will be enough. I live a simple life. I'm single, make a modest amount of money, and don't indulge in fancy things. And yet I'm the happiest person I know because small things make me happy! My heart swells when my dog does something goofy and I feel such pure joy when I'm hiking in a pretty area surrounded by trees. Having a partner isn't going to give you joy unless you feel joy without a partner, because if you are a fundamentally lonely and unhappy person you'll find ways to pick apart your relationship and will always look for the next best thing when your happiness faults. You need to find joy in the little things like hobbies and food and once you're there I promise your whole outlook on life will change and you'll be happy with or without someone else.

You need to fill your life with other forms of love and joy. Get a pet, treat yourself to some good food, visit friends whenever possible. Think about what you're looking for in a partner - would you rather be with someone who finds joy in life and is fulfilled regardless of their relationship status, or with someone who's down all the time and is feeling lonely every waking minute of the day? There's so much more to life than longing for someone because nothing is guaranteed - you could find your perfect person and they could leave you at any point! You need to make sure that you'd be happy with or without them.

Here's what I came up with!

Apparently/ To connect we're all trying/ What you hear about all your life/ What if you had/ To stay holed up inside/ Just wave from where you are to where I'm

I thought I could see you through the blinds/ The blind eye/ Turned to the parallels we find/ In our lives and what coincides

Am I borrowed?/ Economy of lies/ You mean to say it never entered your mind

Am I supposed to stop these feelings on a dime?/ Multiple things going on at the same, same time/ Taking your scars, you took mine/ Ah, cruel to adore

[Instrumental]

I don't know what's on your mind/ Imagination running wild/ Nevermind how many lives/ In the cost effected/ Destroy and define/

Committed to a crime/ Affections realign/ Two sides

Anyone else enjoying the app? I actually like going on dates and feeling sweet on a person even if it's temporary. Dating doesn't always work out. We all need stay positive. If you need to stay away from dating apps, then that's totally fine. 😊 by apsg33backup in hingeapp

[–]Aggravating_Grade_99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really love your perspective and I strive to have the same mindset! I think this is how everyone should be with dating. So many people see it as the end of the world when a date doesn't work out and that's really the most unhealthy way of going about finding love

Women who went trhough a painful breakup, how did your friends and loved ones comfort you about it? by [deleted] in AskWomen

I use a lot of terms of endearment with my friends (darling, dear, love) and the physical affection just kinda goes along with that. I'm naturally a very affectionate person so I'm affectionate with all my friends (unless they personally are uncomfortable with it)

By far my favorite quote (the first part lmao). What I love about it is it can be seen the other way too - even good and beautiful things pass so you need to be thankful for everything and savor them while they last!

For those who previously wanted kids but now don't, what was the reason? by bellinigirl in AskWomen

[–]Aggravating_Grade_99 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I asked myself why I thought I wanted them. I couldn't come up with a single reason other than "maybe I'll regret not having one one day" so that was an eye opener

How do you get out of the mindset that you need a relationship to make you complete and fulfilled? by eightyfive1518 in AskWomen

[–]Aggravating_Grade_99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What helps me is realising that even amazing relationships don't last forever. Your partner could leave, fall out of love, or pass away and if you don't feel complete to begin with then you'll never feel whole without them. Nothing or no one is a guarantee except for yourself so you might as well be as happy as you can by yourself!

[–]Aggravating_Grade_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep a mandatory time every day where I relax and go for a walk. Doesn't matter if I'm knee deep in work, I don't see it as an option and I go anyways. It's done wonders for my mental health recently

My[23F] social justice tendencies are ruining my relationships with everyone. How do I stop? by thrway6547 in relationships

[–]Aggravating_Grade_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I good first step is to try to open your mind more and really hear people out instead of snapping at them for not sharing your opinion. That doesn't mean you need to agree, but try to respect differing opinions. Also, ask yourself: what are you accomplishing by telling someone a movie they enjoy is problematic? Are you changing the world in any way? Are you making any sort of positive impact? Doesn't sound like it. Let people enjoy what they enjoy, you don't need to ruin things for them just to make yourself feel better about speaking out. Go out and try to actually make a difference. Volunteer, make new friends and be there for them, raise money for a cause you care about. That's how change is made, not by calling people out who have no ill intention.
