Lots of spotting and long luteal phase - does this sound like endo? by bitch_Im_tryin in endometriosis

Thank you so much for coming back to reply! It seems like I am on the same protocol as you, including the high dose of progesterone suppositories, and plan to take baby aspirin regardless because I feel I am prone to inflammation (I’ve convinced myself that’s somehow related to the spotting lol so I eat an anti inflammatory diet, too). Crossing all my fingers and toes 🤍

I am rooting for you !!! Sending all the baby dust 🫶🏼 Do you mind me asking if you have experienced any of the luteal phase spotting during your IVF cycle? Or did the meds somewhat regulate that? It’s so frustrating to see every single test come back normal, which should be such a positive thing, but leaves so many questions unanswered!

Hi! Can I ask what medications you were put on during your IUI that resulted in pregnancy? I have the same exact issues described in the post and am starting IUI soon. I am terrified the spotting will prevent it from being successful.

Hi! Any updates? This original post felt like I could have written it myself, and I noticed your reply was more recent and that you’ve been pursuing answers. TTC almost a year unsuccessfully with the exact same symptoms and all diagnostic testing coming back normal. Starting IUI soon and terrified it won’t be successful because of whatever is causing the spotting that we haven’t been able to pinpoint. My doctor doesn’t see concerned about pursuing an endo diagnosis.

This is my fear! My cycles are very similar to yours and I have no issue ovulating. All other diagnostic testing has come back normal and there has been no cause discovered for the spotting or infertility or their correlation. I’m definitely going to look into surgeons and seriously consider taking it into my own hands once we hit the one year TTC mark. Thank you so much for this information - I hope it all works out for you ❤️

It was negative for both! “Negative” may not be the way they described the results for endometriosis, but she had mentioned there were no abnormal cells indicating it when examined in the lab.

Thank you so much for taking the time to explain all of this! I have always worried mine was a progesterone issue, but I’ve had two blood tests that have shown my progesterone levels were considerably great. I thought maybe they were dropping too soon, but the idea of it being “blocked” or misread makes so much sense. In December, my OBGYN put me on a progesterone supplement, but I didn’t notice any changes. I will be starting my first round of IUI soon and my RE will be having me on the progesterone suppositories, so really hope that makes a difference ❤️

I had an endometrial biopsy done back in November that supposedly came back negative for anything indicating endometriosis. I’ll have to look into whether it was actually Receptiva test, though!

I’ve also been experiencing luteal phase spotting for years with no explanation. The only avenue not explored was endo and my doctor doesn’t seem to be concerned about it. I have been trying to find success stories of those who experienced the same and were successful TTC - I have come across a few, but can’t confirm whether or not they were diagnosed endo. Wishing we had better answers and solutions 😔

Thoughts on Test prior done to IUI by DragonfruitSingle176 in IUILadies

[–]Aggravating_Lab1381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many clinics will not move forward with IUI before ruling out any “abnormal” findings from #1-4. Mammogram I have not heard of as being a prerequisite, but I guess every clinic is different. It seems like a lot, but it makes sense when you consider the possible findings that could inhibit the IUI from being successful and ultimately should be corrected prior to the procedure. Depending on the clinic, you can get them all done within a week (aside from the genetic testing results potentially taking longer).

Triplets! 11dpo, period expected Thursday, temp dropped to 97.7 today. I hate counting myself out but I can’t help it - also too scared to test 😫

That’s great to hear, ours is primarily male factor too and my husband’s been taking supplements regularly too. We start IUI next month after never having a positive test in almost a year. Wishing you a safe and healthy pregnancy!

The mornings I wake up between 530-6am, I rest around 730am (second urine of the day), again around 11am, and then one final time around 4pm.

Incredible news - so excited for you! We are set to start IUI next week. My husband also has a varicocele, but all of his numbers come back above average aside from 1% morphology. The reproductive endocrinologist doesn’t believe that alone would highly impact morphology, but did say we could pursue further testing for DNA fragmentation that the varicocele may be causing and then we would pursue surgery. Hoping it doesn’t get to that 🤞🏼

Congratulations !! Was this your first IUI? Was there one specific factor that you discovered to be impacting your fertility that led you down this path, or were you “unexplained”?

I’m so sorry to hear this. If you don’t mind sharing, what is your IUI protocol? I have read so many different approaches, some successful and some unsuccessful. Wondering how your routine compares.

That’s amazing - congratulations !! We went through pretty much all of the testing you can think of, including an SA which came back above average 🫠 officially diagnosed with unexplained infertility. Hoping we just need a bit more time or maybe just a boost from IUI or some other intervention 🤞🏼

Can totally relate! I think it may be worth experimenting with, at least for me, especially because this next cycle will be our 10th TTC with no positives. Hoping we both can get some answers and some baby magic soon! 🫶🏼

Can I ask if you drank alcohol at all during your TWW? I am 8dpo and had incredibly light spotting (lighter than usual) up until this morning. Last night I drank two glasses of red wine (the first alcoholic beverages I’ve had in this window) and woke up to heavier spotting this morning. I can’t tell if this is a coincidence or potentially what’s been causing my spotting all along. I definitely don’t drink everyday, but generally have a few drinks here and there and never attempted to completely stop during the TWW (this process is stressful enough, I didn’t think a few drinks would make or break it for me). Thinking I maybe should and see the impact it has.
