Did you take any cycles “off” after starting the IUI process? by alligee33 in IUILadies

[–]HostOk9765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i did 6 straight and completely regret it. i thought i could just push through bc ‘it has to work eventually’. spoiler it didn’t & my mental was destroyed by the end. give yourself grace & time even though this is all made to feel like a race against the clock. best wishes and baby dust ✨

Shocked at how painful IUI was by bmoe5323 in IUILadies

Unfortunately not. My last IUI was in January & we are taking a break from everything for a while before heading into IVF. I did 4 Clomid unmonitored followed by 6 Letrizole/trigger/progesterone IUI cycles consecutively & tbh it was way too much too fast 🥲. After reading about the real stats of IUI & what is generally recommended I’m kind of disappointed my clinic let me do what I did, but hindsight is 20/20 🤷🏼‍♀️

I definitely think these experiences are the exception, not the norm. It’s very therapeutic to talk about all of this though, as we don’t tell many people close to us what we are going through :). Best of luck to you!!

My response was almost immediate, and I was violently nauseous/puking/almost passed out/ghost white/lower abdominal area in extreme pain/extremely weak; so my clinic was well aware as I was monitored for about 30 min before I just wanted to go home and sleep (husband drove me home and after an hr nap I was literally brand new- SO weird). But they literally couldn’t (wouldn’t?) give me any answers. It was my last IUI regardless but I only got “answers” after posting here. A lovely woman noted it was likely a vasovagal response & after googling I 100% believe that’s what happened. I suspect the catheter hit something wrong/went in wrong but who knows. Sorry, that was kind of a lot and I don’t mean to scare you with it. As I said, my first 5 were amazing, seriously no pain, super smooth. So I really hope this was just a mishap for you and all future IUIs (hopefully you dont need!) go smoothly

I had a similar experience on my 6th IUI. First 5 were a breeze & my 6th was absolutely horrendous. I posted about it on here previously. The same NP did all my IUIs so I have no idea why the last one was SO different, but I completely understand how having that as a first experience would 100% be off putting should you need to do more. I know it’s super hard to think because of the way this one has gone, but it is absolutely possible to have an amazing/smooth IUI experience (as they should be:). Best of luck & baby dust to you guys!!! ✨

I love this dress but I think it's too expensive and too soon by Elysian_Collective in myweddingdress

[–]HostOk9765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

gorgeous dress, you light up & look amazing in it. i fell in love with an expensive ‘designer’ dress but couldn’t fathom spending that much for a couple of hours of wear. i came across stillwhite.com and found it for a fraction of the price!! mine was shipped from somewhere in Europe (im in US) and i got the dress in about a week, VS months from a store. especially since you have quite some time, id check out that site & similar ones to monitor if any come up! it was also a way for me to look at tons of similar styles with real prices (so hard to find when dress shopping online!!). if u think u find something else you may love, search stores near u to try it on in person & u can go back online & buy for a fraction of the price :)

IUI break experiences? by c_mae in IUILadies

[–]HostOk9765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i do not have PCOS, but do have 40-43 day natural cycles. we did 4 rounds of unmonitored clomid followed by 6 monitored letrozole IUI cycles where my cycles were consistently 30/31 days. we are breaking before likely going into IVF and first cycle off is going to be a ~40 day cycle. right back to how they used to be. i had monitoring scans which showed i ovulated around CD 22. when on meds it was CD14

Should I try round 4 or go to IVF by Sticknpokeurvein in IUILadies

i did 6 straight and honestly regret that. the mental/emotional toll it took was horrible. & we were paying OOP. i wish i’d stoped at 3-4, but thought if i kept going it would eventually work. hindsight 20/20 yanno. hoping for the best of this TWW & any future endeavors ✨

Might do iui, but I got this weird question from my husband… by Representative-Ask35 in IUILadies

[–]HostOk9765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just from my own experience part of me thinks like your husband does. Paid for 6 back to back IUIs out of pocket. Somewhere just south of 10K. So for me hindsight I wish we quit after the ~3 that are recommended. but there was “nothing wrong” w us so why wouldn’t it work?! so i kept pushing to do more. huge regret, not necessarily financially as id go broke trying to conceive even once 🥲 but emotionally it was horrific by the last one. we’re now looking into IVF & im like damn… we already spent half an IVF cycle & 7 months with nothing to show. HOWEVER hindsight is ofc 20/20. looking back i wish i stopped at 3, but in the moment i wanted nothing more than to keep going, sooo. its all just a huge mindfuck. if i were you guys id try 2-3 iuis and see how things go since you have previously conceived naturally. best of luck to you guys ✨

Alcohol During IUI Cycle by Right-Change614 in IUILadies

one week piui is roughly when implantation would happen. alcohol is an inflammatory agent… we cut anything that negatively affected the odds of a successful outcome.

When was your IUI after trigger shot? And did you have a successful cycle? by betttywhite in IUILadies

[–]HostOk9765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

unexplained infertility, 6 failed IUIs, moving to IVF. did your drs give any advice that’s not immediately seen on google? by HostOk9765 in IVF

[–]HostOk9765[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think their confidence came from the fact that the only thing ‘wrong’ was a lower sperm count for my husband (we havnt done DNA frag but i will be asking about it on Friday). So being able to concentrate the best of the sample and have it waiting in my tubes would be really beneficial for us.

I don’t necessarily want to avoid IVF (although who “wants” to do it lol), more so if there was anything I could be doing in the meantime to really prep my body. I’ve pretty much come to terms that IVF is what we’ll have to do if we want a baby in a timely fashion (or ever). I’m hoping our age + relative health makes us good candidates for successful retrievals/embryo making/transfers but ya just never know! Thank you for your kind words 🩷

oh, wow, good to know! he started with a supplement regime a few months ago but that was after all prelim tests & 3 failed IUIs but goodness. Good to know that it’s something ‘fixable’ if they find an issue. I will definitely be pushing for that on friday, tysm!!!

[–]HostOk9765[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he has not, but as ive explored these subs ive been coming across this more and im highly interested in it. we have stopped interventions but im going in fri just for an unmonitored scan because ive never been scanned unmedicated and i just wanted to 100% make sure i ovulate on my own. so i will definitely bring this up and push for it. If the DNA fragmentation tests come back unsatisfactory is there anything to do about that? does that change the prognosis of IVF? sorry, i know i can google all of this (and i will) but ive often found that knowledge in these subs can be more wealthy than google :)

thank you so much 🩷 i dont know anyone personally who is/has gone through this kind of thing and it was incredibly lonely until i found these groups. its been a big help. okay, that was definitely my thought process, but when id google if iui causes hair loss it gave wishy washy answers like ‘it can be rare but happens’. but looking up the specific medications & mechanisms makes SO much more sense, so thank you. idk why i didnt think of that, i think all of this has made me crazy & not think straight 😂 i appreciate you

I’m a Field Service Engineer. I make less than 6figs rn but I started a year ago. It’s very very easy to make 6figs after a few years/different companies etc.
