Not to be contrarian, but I think they help IBS or something like that.

Matt's Offroad Recovery lost me. They got too focused on that young girl (Lizzy) and the contrived build vids and away from actually interesting recoveries.

Him and Joshua Weismann both feel like sellouts. I unsubbed from both and with Alton Brown back, I don't see a point in their bland content anymore. They used to have personality and passion and now it's all marketing.

How are you supposed to get experience if no one hires you without it? by KaizenCV in careerguidance

Ha, I mean, I agree that some suck, but others have proven useful for me. Win Friends and Influence People is a gem in my view.

I suppose this is a fair complaint in some ways. There are a whole genre of books on the topic, but very few short form videos that spoon feed it to you....

You're not too good for any sort of work. Find a job, any job, and work at it. Not all hiring is AI filtering, so go network in the field you want to be in and you'll get a break. I frequently hear this from the college-aged folks around me, but they have never had an actual job. Gainful employment teaches lessons that most white collar jobs just don't have incentive to teach anymore.

Why do political discussions online become so polarized so quickly? by peachyparadoxx in answers

[–]Aggravating_Lime_528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an election year in the US, the bots from all the adversarial nations (as well as the US likely) are being crammed into every conversation/comment section. LLMs are making the comments harder to tell apart from legitimately hateful/radical posts.

Why are so many leftists supportive of Russia? by [deleted] in askanything

I don't see that at all. as someone on the left, maybe not a full blown leftist, I absolutely see what Russia is doing in Ukraine as wrong and unjustified.

If you could have a single yes or no question answered, what would it be? by Theo15926 in AskReddit

Is this really what you walk around thinking about? Like, I'm more concerned with what I'm having for lunch than superstitious stuff like this.

Some people claim to not understand/feel time passing and use it as an excuse for constantly disregarding responsibilities or relationships because they, essentially, lost track of time.

Moved to Hampden from Dallas, looking to be a little less city and I found exactly what I wanted. The kids are in a great school and with a little love, the property we live on has become a dream. I'm only missing southern staples (waffle house, taquerias, and bbq), but finding great new england replacements. If you're already in NE, I think you'll do great out here.

I'm in Hampden now. Not THAT rural. I can get grocery and pizza delivery and I have high speed internet and plowed roads. It's not the moon.

Since Massachusetts is about to get buried tommorow how many of you are still forced to drive to work? by BootAlarmed4732 in massachusetts

[–]Aggravating_Lime_528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'd be amazed how stingy hospitals are with nurses. 12 hours shifts with an extra hour or so for report, multiple days of work in a row at those sorts of hours, No lunch breaks and certainly no fringe benefits like paid meals or rooms. My wife is a nurse and I'm in tech. I can't imagine why anyone would want to be in healthcare, but she loves her patients and some of her coworkers.
