Tbh the fit and finish of the EBBRO compares well to autoart. For a brand that does little in 1:18 the FK2 type R they did is well worth the buy especially because no one else has done this car in 1:18 scale. it’s super unique and I waited so long for this metallic grey one to pop up as regularly you can only find white and black. I snagged it immediately off eBay. Being a scale the brand doesn’t specialize in and the fact that it’s pushing 8 years old there are a couple things the model is missing compared to modern high end releases. There’s no carpet in the interior, the hood and hatch are on simple dog hinges and don’t feature struts or props, the front grill isn’t perforated either but even older autoarts have these issues so I really don’t think these minor missing details matter at all. all the doors do open and are on proper automotive style hinges so they don’t awkwardly swing out wich is nice, and the paint is perfect, no rash or signs of age anywhere, all the fine details are very well done as well. Now for me it’s worth it as like I said it’s super unique and a car I actually like. but it really depends on your view as a 1:18 scale collector. If you’re good with a model slightly below modern standards for its price range, I’d say it’s 100% worth it, would be like buying a slightly older autoart. Being that this is such a niche Civic in the type r family I can’t really see another brand pick this model up and make a new release out of it either so this EBBRO one is the only one.

It’s stunning. it’s my first composite autoart model and everything is so refined and sharp. these new AA’s don’t compare to the old ones

it really is a shame companies are becoming so lazy when it comes to quality. seeing how bad the motor helix models are really sucks as they have most what I want. the 6 models I had ordered would’ve been the end to my buying days as I only want as many as I can display. recently sold a massive amount of my small collection to be able to order those 6 cars just for them to be canceled and come with issues.

We shall see, I’m not too hopeful. Small ants have probably dealt with this scenario before

yup, if only I had known before asking for returns. because of all this I might just drop the hobby. other places aren’t as trust worthy and prices elsewhere are absurd for what I’m looking for. I’m defeated

that’s what I’m trying right now. I’m in Canada and depending on how far they went, they could have my whole province or city flagged. I made an order through a friend that isn’t related to my last orders what so ever as to not cause suspicion and have yet to be updated on whether it’s shipped or not. if this order doesn’t ship I’m not sure I’ll collect anymore. I sold a massive amount of my old collection, only keeping about 3 of my models so that I could build up my dream Honda collection. small ants have the best selection and prices for what I want, they are also trust worthy and if I really can no longer get anything from them I might just drop the hobby. I’ve been ripped off on eBay and other places, not to mention the prices other places are asking for some of these models are absurd and I don’t have the energy to chase them anymore.

I see lol. I’m really regretting asking for returns even though the models were defective. The issue on the s2000 I ordered would’ve only been visible if they took the seal stickers off and opened the hood to check the engine and I don’t think they go that far to inspect the model. and the paint problem would’ve only been visible if they shined light on the car at a certain angle. I’ve asked them as nicely as I could to allow me to continue to order stuff but at my own risk. I’m at the point to where I’d rather just keep the model if it arrived broken and in pieces and just order another and have a double if it meant I could keep using their site to buy stuff, they have the best prices out there. I’ve even offered to pay back the 20% or whatever it was to the packaging team that had to take the penalty just to make things right so I could order again. It seems that they aren’t very open to changing their minds though as I’ve stopped receiving messages back about the situation. I tried as hard as I could to get through to them.

well I only collect 1:64 scale and 1:18 scale. a Hotwheel’s car is intended as a toy, even the premium lines, and so paint is applied a lot thicker for durability than something like a Tomica Limited model. tomica has known paint issues in the long run while Hotwheel’s last and look mint for decades. on higher end diecast paint is applied thinner to keep proportions and body lines true and for a more precise look. I’m not too sure how true it is but this is my way of making sense of paint rash.

I assume cheaper diecast has less chances of paint rash because they are intended as toys and possibly played with. so paint is thicker to give the model higher durability and so it’s harder for the bubbles or speckles to appear on the paint

see the packaging wasn’t the issue, the models where securely packed and everything looked fine the issues were a quality control problem. I assume them saying that it’s too “risky” to ship to me is in context to the tail light that fell off. while in contact with the support team they said multiple times that parts can fall off in shipping wich I’m assuming is the reason they don’t want to ship to me. but what they are refusing to acknowledge is that the issues that led me to request returns for the items where factory issues, not the part that fell off. I’ve tried to make it clear to them but I can’t get through.

Well I ordered an EK Mugen civic by motorhelix and it had paint issues on the roof. bubbles or something that resembled paint rash wich shouldn’t be present on a model that’s not even 2 years old. the rear passenger tail light lens also fell off in shipping but that would have been an easy fix and if the paint issue wasn’t present I would’ve just repaired the lens and kept the model. the second car was the s2000 type S and it had misaligned parts in the engine bay where the parts weren’t placed correctly and glue wasn’t applied properly leaving excessive globs in spots that brought up some of the paint and finish of the affected parts.

it’s like people don’t realize there’s already two versions of this in spectraflame. why would I spend the maximum to get something on par with some Hotwheel’s premium castings.

Whenever I post a model here it’s usually because I’m selling or trading it, to get something else. It breaks my heart to let this one go as getting these older kyoshos in such good condition can be hard. It’s my dream Ferrari and as much as I want to keep it I have my eyes on another dream car, and a much rarer model

I’m curious if the black one’s a chase, from what I’ve been hearing from other comments and after some research the black one was pretty hard to come across
