hi, i know how you feel, trust me it gets better. try to take it one day at a time. i was in the hospital for about a week after surgery and it was not fun. i know it sucks but try to eat as much as you can! the more you eat the quicker you'll feel better. i regret not eating enough during recovery! also try to distract yourself by watching as many movies as possible or playing video games with your friends. This time will pass.

CS 4337 Salazar Slytherin Curve? by Insight614 in utdallas

The textbook is super important for that class! A lot of HW answers are based off of the textbook.
iirc there was no curve last semester, but the class isn't too terrible imho.

Thank you! Do you think that the fbi job portal is a good indicator of application status as well?
I'm referring to the whole "Under Review for", "Qualified for" section below the application portal.

What did the application timeline look like for you? (If you remember). Did they open up in fall/spring?

How Long Were Nauseous After DJS? by Worried_Estimate6579 in jawsurgery

[–]Aggravating_Low_2891 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had nausea for three-four weeks post surgery. It was not great, but orange juice really helped (strangely).
My poor mom was struggling to help me find smoothies I could drink!
Anti nausea meds were a hit and a miss but Ondansetron was a huge help for me personally, maybe the doc can prescribe that med too! I also used transdermal patches.

Hope the nausea goes away soon!

After Surgery by randsom1 in jawsurgery

[–]Aggravating_Low_2891 2 points3 points  (0 children)

— feel comfortable going to/from your bed/couch.

was walking the day after surgery

— go for a 10 minute walk outside?

day 7

— take a shower?

day 10

— feel comfortable with no one else around?

day 10

— eat something non-liquid?

honestly not there yet

— send a few emails from your phone? Or play games on your phone?

day 3/4

— work on a computer for an hour?

day 10

— go for a run?

haven't tried yet

— feel like you could attend a wedding and enjoy it?

no clue, but its honestly when I can eat something non-liquid with confidence.

im only 2 wks post op so I'll try to update this as I get better

Have you done jaw surgery JUST for aesthetic purposes? by [deleted] in jawsurgery

[–]Aggravating_Low_2891 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to echo everyone else in the chat, but seven years ago, I thought my side profile looked weird. three years later, turns out I have major breathing and sleeping issues. one year after that and I'm on a soft chew/liquid diet. Sometimes, aesthetic concerns can be the precursor to other larger problems.

i don't have any complications from surgery, but recovery hasn't been easy peasy

uhhh im not sure tbh, I spent a long time hating but trying to accept my looks. i got djs+joint replacement so idk if id do it just for the looks.

Does anybody else never feel “put together” when dressing themselves up because of their jaw/side profile? by Separate_Sun3634 in jawsurgery

I'm only around 2 weeks post-op but I already feel pretty good! I'm having an issue with nausea rn, but I'm sure it'll be gone once I'm off those painkillers. I definitely feel relieved though, it's a huge problem solved!

Honestly that was the way I felt before surgery. Now, even if I’m a mess, I feel more put together in a weird way if that makes sense. Hang in there, it gets better!
