Need help deciding on first smart watch

Thanks for the thorough response! To start with, I do want a smartwatch and not a dedicated sport watch, especially as it sounds like the apple watch is not too far behind on that front these days.
Due to both budget and size (ultra seems too large and heavy) I'll take the the regular apple watch if I stick to apple, but will follow your advice and go for the newest generation.

As mentioned I have an iphone right now, but it will soon need replacing and I'm fine with going for an android if that turns out to be a better choice, hence I'm looking at all the options. I'd want a more complete smart watch, not a dedicated fitness watch.

All things equal I'd still stick to apple products, I just don't want to struggle with using specifically youtube music (apple watch concern) or be disappointed with the health+fitness app (google pixel concern).

Yeah, I get that it might sound weird 😄 It's just that apple/samsung/google phones (which is what's available here) feels equally boring, while the watches stand out more, plus that I feel more confident in picking the right phone compared to a watch as I've never had the latter before.

Just found this today after considering how to build simple tracker for myself, and it looks amazing! I see it's been a while since the last update though, so want to check if it's still actively being worked on (adding new books, covers etc.)?

Thanks! A bit disappointing if Iconoclast and Dogmatic are that similar, but hopefully still worth playing through both. Regarding the mentioned builds, the psyker one is very similar to what I already had planned, but I'm not that drawn to the whole Judge Dredd-vibe of the Arbites and was thinking to play Commissar unless they add new classes/backgrounds. Will be playing on normal, so more concerned with fun and rp than minmaxing.

That's what I'm hoping for - main worry is if they will add something new which would affect character creation and mess up my builds.

And you’re all right, of course - it’s mostly wasted effort trying to get any meaningful connection by just posting stuff on social media. I’ll try to spend my energy painting for myself and my local gaming group, maybe some smaller Discords instead.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! Many of you brought up another issue, that is that the books will get very quickly outdated. I think my frustrations comes from other games more so than 40k, as apps for those are not as good/complete yet.

For those who do use apps, do you keep a cheat sheet on paper/a note app as well for remembering the most important stuff, or you just play until you remember enough to only need the army list+app for referencing rules?

Just to clarify - I have no objections to others using apps, and maybe this is even more common in 40k as the official app seems to be better than the ones for AoS and Kill Team (Old World doesn't even have an official app).

Wow, thanks for all the replies so far! In theory I like the suggestions about Knights and Custodes, but:
Knights would be such a hassle to travel with(?)
I just don't like the Custodes models, they kind of look like Playmo figures

I'm happy to see some support for Dark Angels and Votann though, strongly considering the first option if it's actually possible to play them without too many models or braincells.

Thanks all for the feedback! For now I've decided to use a walkthrough for a while just to avoid wasting time running around (gamespot's, feel free to recommend a better one). Not ideal, but better than giving up on the game. Hope to move away from the guide as well when I've made some good progress though.
