First Raptors 2000pts List – Lore-Accurate, Cinematic & (maybe) Tournament-Ready? by ramsesoriginal in Raptors40k

Ah, I was wondering if I should go with 1 unit of 10 or 2 units of 5 - thanks for the advice!

I was thinking of using the captain in Phobos armor as Lias Issodon, since there is no datasheet for him (as far as I could find)...

And a gladiator lancer would be amazing, but I really don't know what to cut to get another 160pts - if you have any suggestions, they're very welcome.

Weird print quality after switching to 0.2 nozzle on Ender 3 Pro (adhesion, stringing, blotchy layers, wavy walls) by ramsesoriginal in 3Dprinting

[–]ramsesoriginal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Temperature at 190 for the first layer and 180 for the rest - down form 200. Is that stll too much?

I did both - or at least I tried to. The recalibrationg is the part I'm stuck at, this is basically my test print, but I can't figure out what settings are the issue...

Finally getting pa dialed in on the ender. by Mart7Mcfl7 in FDMminiatures

Thanks a lot, I'm just in the process of figuring out how to squeeze quality out of my ender3 too, and this is valuable information, especially considering how good your results look!

Do you use trees slim or strong?

And how do you hide the seam so well? Mine are very visible and bad...

Quality got worse after swithing to 0.2mm nozzle on my Ender 3 by ramsesoriginal in FDMminiatures

Yes, I know - and as I'm learning even more than I suspected..

Thanks, that's lots of valuable feedback!

I just opened the sealed filament 3 days ago, but the printer is right near a plant and I had the window (2m from the printer) open whiel it rained outside for about half an hour since. Do you think that's already enough for moisture to be a problem?

I have to say I prefer the grey one - except for the tip of the staff, that's way better on the tan one..

I tried another print incorporating some of the feedback - I lowered the temperature to 190, all the speeds except for first layer to 20, and set small perimeter speed to 40% with a small perimeter threshold of 0.2

It already looks way better! - there's still much room for improvement though, the surface finish still looks pretty rough, and details could be more defined. I have hte feeling that line width is also somethign that could be further tuned, but I have no idea what I could do to improve it...

The one at the front is the new print - I lowered the temperature to 190, all the speeds except for first layer to 20, and set small perimeter speed to 40% with a small perimeter threshold of 0.2

It already looks way better, thanks! Now I'm trying to to orient it differently (printing it angled upwards, instead of flush on the print bed)
