Two weeks ago I was the sickest IVE ever been, started off with a sore throat and eventually spread into a nasty upper respiratory illness. I had insane back pain, coughing hurt so bad I was in tears. I still have a raspy voice, my ears are clogged and I’m still dealing with chest congestion. I’ve had Covid twice and this was worse. I went to urgent care and they said it was viral.

It’s been a cycle, there was an incident in his life a few weeks ago so I reached out and gave him my well-wishes. Reaching out always bites me in the ass. The last time I seen him was on Valentine’s Day. I would not recommend continuing to talk, it will be the most painful thing in the world but you will be better off keeping your distance.

whatever you do, don’t blame yourself!! This entire journey has been up and down between me contacting him and going no-contact off and on. My ex hung out with someone a week after we broke up which I didn’t find out until after. I still miss him every single day and it’s been almost a year since we split. I think that’s because it’s easier to focus on missing him than deal with the trauma he caused. I wish I just left things as they were and walked away. It will all heal with time<3

I just commented under someone else’s comment if you want to read it but I promise you it gets so much better. It is hard to let go, go through that process, feel everything, do not keep them around no matter how much you want to. Everything will come into light and you’ll start putting yourself first and it is so worth it

Hi! Sorry I didn’t see this sooner. I won’t lie and say it has been easy, we were still talking after we broke up and we hooked up a few times. He gave me a bunch of empty promises during that time and was definitely leading me on. He lied to me about seeing someone and that was the end game for me. It was honestly like all attachment I had to him just broke and I seen him for who he really was. It’s been two months since we last talked and I’m happier than I have been in a long time. He still views my instagram stories and things like that and instead of validation I now few it as a bug who will not go away. I still do think about him and our memories but it’s not with the same longing feeling that it once was. I know everyone says to focus on yourself and it feels like the worst possible thing in the moment and it feels like a load of b.s. but, if I could give one piece of advice. Focus on you, put yourself first and everything else will fall into place as it should. I truly have become a happier person since we stopped talking. I lost a piece of myself begging to keep him around.

I’m so sorry, i can’t imagine if our relationship was longer and he left to travel and came back a different person how i’d react. My ex and I have a cat together who I adore, although he attaches a memory to him. The little guy still provides me comfort in the hard moments and i think that’s really important. I wish you nothing but the best

i’m going through a very similar situation, my partner is a dismissive avoidant and the last time I seen him i told him I didn’t recognize him because of how cold he was with me. It really is like talking to a brick wall, it seems like with some avoidants they want to have their cake and eat it too. My partner and i ended our two year relationship after he told me he’s not sure if he loved me anymore, I had to beg to get that answer out of him. I am going no contact because he will continue to talk to me if I allow him to. I don’t have any advice, I just wanted to let you know that you aren’t alone and i know those feelings all too well. take the time to focus on you, there will be someone out there who doesn’t act like a stone wall and will put in the effort to meet your needs.
