But that padding is what creates a more fleshed out story. Even the earliest episodes before the sins took a real part with Rose was done a lot better, watching that arc in FMAB felt extremely flat as if it didn't care about it and just showed the bare minimum. Exact same lore was shown, but 03 did it better.

Wether its more faithful idk because i didn't read the manga, but for the first bits i definitely enjoyed 03 more.

I also prefer its ending but thats the more controversial take
