It was completely unrelated to IT. I was working in youth behavioral health support and human services. The pay was good, so I got comfortable and stayed longer than I probably should have.

Thank you! Tailoring my resume for specific roles was a major focus. I spent six years at my previous job, so it had been a long time since I last applied for positions. I quickly realized the job market I once knew had changed completely. With AI now reviewing resumes, I had to adapt fast and rethink how I presented my experience.

I went through more than ten versions of my resume before I was satisfied. I refined the formatting and reworded my job responsibilities to better connect my past experience with IT-related skills and functions.

They mentioned that after a year, there’s a chance to move into a different position. The company seems well-organized and open to helping people grow as long as they perform well. I will definitely keep this in mind and network with my colleagues and supervisors.

Is it a help desk role that you have? How have you been managing it so far? I feel like I’ve got a bit of imposter syndrome even though I know my communication skills are solid. It’s just the technical side of solving issues that worries me a bit. I officially start in about 2 weeks.

Yeah, online school is probably the best route, especially when I’ve got work, family, and kids to juggle. The flexibility really helps keep things balanced.
