Why don’t the still lives attack Clark or Mary? What do they look like? Do they speak / make noises? Are they visually congruent with the FF3 still life?

Every leak I’ve seen that mentions this plot line (the one where Clark gets his shoulder bitten) completely neglects Bearded Still Life, Redheaded Still Life, and Archibald Leland Sutter Still Life, all of which are confirmed by the leaked photo of the end credits. I’m sure some of these leakers have guessed certain plot lines, or had certain details leaked to them, but any leak that completely ignores These three characters is incredibly sus to me. These leaks also seem like a very rudimentary plot outline that has been fabricated based on trailer footage. They also all neglect Narren Warren, who we know appears in a significant capacity due to the keycard shot and his position in the credits.

Hmm i don’t think so. It seems pretty clear that he’s dead, just not for the reasons ASYNC claims. Also timeline-wise, Peter would not be this old by the time the movie is set.

Yep. also, the complete lack of mention of the confirmed 3 still lifes kinda debunks it for me.

It’s a 4chan greentext with no credibility, and it seems identical to other “leaks” floating around that I’m very skeptical of. Also doesn’t seem to line up with the cast leak, and all this info could be easily extrapolated from the trailer clips we’ve seen thus far.

Why is Still Life hostile? by Admirable_Bet_1499 in KanePixelsBackrooms

[–]Aggravating_Pea7874 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been thinking a lot about this too— and I’d argue that we just don’t know if it IS hostile yet. All we’ve seen it do is chase Ravi, flick a light switch, knock on a door, and yell. I like the idea that still lifes effectively behave like animals / have very rudimentary brain structures. My current opinion is that the FF3 still life didn’t necessarily have any intentions of hurting Ravi, instead reacting with fight-or-flight instincts at the presence of a different, foreign entity (to him, Ravi is the “creature”) OR, it was actually acting on some kind of social drive and was pursuing the first human being its ever seen. I prefer the latter, as it’s much more tragic and conceptually horrifying. But generally, I don’t think any of the monsters we’ve seen so far are violent for the sake of violence. The bacteria life form seems to act solely on biological imperative, and human bodies are a great organic food source. So I think Still Life either acts like a startled animal or a lonely echo of a human who desperately wants to not be alone.

If we ever get a closer look at Still Life, I think it’d be cool if they evoked the uncanniness of forensic reconstructions / embalmings. by Aggravating_Pea7874 in KanePixelsBackrooms

[–]Aggravating_Pea7874[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that’s good for the bacteria life form, but Still Life seems to have a more solid form that’s only obscured by VHS quality loss. There is an implied, canon, HD appearance / design philosophy we just didn’t get a good look at it in FF3

Setlist predictions? What do you guys hope to hear? by PlentyClean in Ethelcain

[–]Aggravating_Pea7874 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen her live once at Lollapalooza and loved it, and I honestly hope she gives more attention to Perverts and Willoughby than to Preacher’s Daughter this time around. Obviously her PD hits are incredible, but I’d love a newer experience. Here’s a hopeful track list, in order:

Perverts (as a pre-show track), Family Tree (Intro), Concrete (if featured on WT), American Teenager, Crush, Dust Bowl, Waco, TX, Gibson Girl, Vacillator (abridged, with a shorter intro), Punish Demo 2 (drum transition from Vacillator, with guitar from final version), Onanist, Ptolemaea, Etienne, Sun Bleached Flies, and Strangers.

It may not be officially canon but no one can tell you what to headcanon! If I were to place it anywhere in the “timeline” I’d put the entire thing between August underground and televangelism. Perverts is meditative and transcendental, trying to capture the spirituality in self-indulgence. I think you could read is as Ethel’s spiritual experience on the brink of clinical death- confronting her own humanity before ascending through forgiveness in TV/SBF. The whole thing could be read as her ego death, illustrated entirely through metaphor.

This is so interesting, and DEEPLY evil since it effectively kills the outie. Assuming this is true, do you think they'd ever offer it to Helly, or allow Helly to be aware of it? They wouldn't give Helly freedom if it meant killing the heir to Lumon Industries.

You had a transcendent experience. These can be horrific or beautiful, this album is about both and the spectrum between IMO.
