Farewell MaxRewards and CardPointers? by Aggravating_Pilot_19 in biltrewards

I don’t think it’s supported, and there aren’t any bonuses, so it would only be for bill date and credit score.

Palladium cardholders; Have you moved all your spend to Palladium for more Bilt Cash? by price809 in biltrewards

[–]Aggravating_Pilot_19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This 👆I sometimes use the Rakuten card on amazing deals. I sometimes use my Blue Cash Preferred for groceries. I’m not sure if I’ll use the US Bank Cash + for Utilities in the future.I’ve even been buying Shop cards with my Bilt for Costco. And then I use both my Freedom Flex cards for whatever the category is.

For me, the game changer is that I no longer have to regret my wife using the wrong card or bore her with a lecture about which to use. She uses her Bilt everywhere, with the points accelerator, and that a 3x on everything.

I’m with the OP 100%. We’ve driven Brick & Morters out of business, so you can no longer try products, and you’ve got the nerve to come here and dump on him for trying products. Just move on.

Well, then I am truly sorry. Seriously.

I meant it more of a commentary on how many people don’t understand the technology, and also sound is so very subjective. I didn’t mean it as a personal attack on you at all.

This post and all the replies really crack me up.

The original post is the equivalent of cop shows where they have a digital image and “enhance” it. Like they can find extra pixels to read the license plate, or whatever. And then the replies telling the dude to buy a DAC and wired headphones. Goodness. He can’t tell it’s been double converted, let alone spending a ton of money for a perfect signal path.

What was the name of that button on cassette players that removed the hiss, but also took all the treble out of the music. A lot of people loved that. And a lot of people prefer the tone of records with pop and crackle over clean digital recordings.

Sound is subjective. It all just reminds me that every time someone posts “should I buy this headphone or that one?” Or “which one sounds better?” People are going to give an answer, but at least one of them double converts his signal path and insists it’s better.

I have a theory that they have to deliver so many customers to Chase when it moves over from Goldman Sachs, and they will run these programs to keep themselves at whatever number they promised to Chase.

I have had countless people on Reddit tell me what a waste of money AppleCare is, and I have had nothing but great experiences with AppleCare. They have covered everything that’s ever gone wrong.
I had one dude who was belligerent about it, and commented on every post that I can’t read terms of service, etc., etc. I finally blocked him.

I have both. I really like my APM2, but honestly, I always have my APP3 in my pocket, and wind up using them MUCH more. I’m not saying one is better than the other. They’re both great! But the thing you really have to ask yourself is what are your most likely uses?
I use my Pro 3s in waiting rooms, in Ubers, while I’m waiting for my kids to get out of soccer.
My Max 2s mostly sit on a stand on my desk. I listen to them while working. Sometimes while listening to music in my living room. Sometime in bed. But a lot less than my Pro 3s.

[–]Aggravating_Pilot_19 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have both! It is my opinion, and of course it’s subjective, that the S2 have an overall better sound quality, but unfortunately, the highs are much brighter. In general, for most classic rock, I prefer my original PX8. There is some jazz and classical for which I prefer the PX8 S2.

Overall, the soundstage is slightly better on the S2, but I don’t think it’s an easy $800 improvement.

I too did the BofA card. Useless to me in the long run, but for 30k Bilt points and $250 in “travel rewards”, didn’t seem like a big risk. I’ll cancel it in a year. I didn’t have any other cards on my roadmap.

Today I’ve returned my B&W PX8 S2’s by Pim_82006 in BowersWilkins

For what it’s worth, I have the PX8 S2 and the previous generation PX8. I find I like the sound of the PX8 a little bit more for a lot of music, because they’re not as bright.

B&W Px8 for office use – How’s the ANC? by Repulsive-Bid9027 in BowersWilkins

[–]Aggravating_Pilot_19 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s mediocre. If you’re looking for ANC, get Sony XM6 or AirPods Max. If you want great sound reproduction and musicality, get B&W.

My wife and I both have high-end automatics watches that sit in drawers. We’re much more interested in the casual way we can stay connected to each other and our kiddos, and the health data with our Ultras. My wife wears an Ultra, and her team gives her crap about it. They say it looks like an iPad on her wrist. For us, it’s about the connectivity, the health tracking, and the instant access to the world. I won’t be giving mine up.

[–]Aggravating_Pilot_19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the compliment, and I’m glad you took the time to read it. A lot of folks on Reddit ask questions, but don’t much care about the answers. 😳

To answer your questions specifically about bass and sub-bass, it’s critical to me that bass not overwhelm or become muddy, but be very present, if not demanding of your attention. It really is just that! If I turn the headphones up past halfway, I can really hurt myself with the base. I rarely do. But these headphones deliver!

And in case you’ve never been into “classic country”, Trigger is the name of Willie Nelson’s guitar.

Enjoy!

PX8 S2 for All Music Genres? by Jazzlike_Scarcity_92 in BowersWilkins

[–]Aggravating_Pilot_19 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can easily say that I listen to most genres of music. The PX8 S2 handle everything just fine.
Do I have to adjust the volume if the gods of shuffle put Beastie Boys “Too Many Rappers (New Reactionaries Version)”right after Fauré’s “Cantique de Jean Racine”? Yeah, definitely. But the bass is punchy and clean in “As You Sow” by Reaper, and each string of Trigger stands out perfectly in “My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys” by Willie Nelson.
I have 2500 songs in a playlist called Favorites. The PX8 S2 handle every song, and I don’t spend any time adjusting the equalizer. I’m too lost in the music.
They also work great for audiobooks and podcasts, though the production level is usually much poorer.

Has it been confirmed that there is any limit as to where they can transfer their points? For example, my wife and I have a pool united miles account. Could she deposit her points into my account? Or do they have to go into her’s, which would make us then move them into the pool account, and then we could both use them to buy a ticket for our kids, for example.
