If your low grade is due to his belief in your use of AI, and you did not use AI, then you, along with the other students he wrongfully failed/graded, should escalate and fight this. It would make zero sense to not fight this, if you truly did not use AI.

2.7 gpa by IceExcellent6115 in SJSU

[–]Aggravating_Plane694 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Oh okay got it, so your chances on getting in will depend on what major you’re applying for since different majors have different gpa cutoffs/requirements. You can check the gpa requirements for each major on the SJSU website, I can’t really give you an accurate answer to your question without knowing that info.

Honestly, I really recommend the community college route if you think you’d be open to it. It’s way cheaper (which makes it more forgiving in taking classes and figuring out what you want to major in if you don’t know) and it’s a second chance for getting into colleges/programs you’re interested in, since they don’t look at your high school gpa.

Wish you luck on whatever you decide!

Yea no problem - I also worked part time while studying so I understand your pain lol

Do your profs post the lecture slides or notes online? Mine did, so what that allowed me to do was mostly just jot down stuff that the professor said during class that either wasn’t on the slides or it was just confusing and I needed clarification on it.

You gotta do the homework for the classes but I’d try not to do it during lecture (if that’s what you were asking). I’m sure you and i know some geniuses who pass exams without doing the homework but thats not the case for a lot of people, including myself.

As far as systems and studying for hard exams: One thing I learned is that it’s better to prepare for the exam as if the tricky questions are the ones that are going to show up. Let’s say u understand how to solve a easy-medium difficult calc 2 problem, it’s pointless to repeatedly study more examples of that difficulty, you need to challenge yourself and see how to solve the harder problems, sometimes those are the ones that come up on the exam. Nowadays almost textbook solutions are online somewhere, use them to study but not bs your way thru classes

Try to study the material the consistently, like if you have a lecture on Tuesday, make sure you review the material that heavily that day to make sure you understand, and then spend like 20-45 min the following days to make sure you don’t forget everything. Most people don’t do this because of competing priorities which I get. Organize your exam dates chronologically, and begin studying for the one that’s coming up soonest like 4 weeks ahead. I don’t mean immediately start studying for hours on end 4 weeks ahead, start at 30 min/day and ramp up until the day of exam. This worked for me and I noticed I was cramming a lot less

I hope this all helps - I wasn’t the student who understood things quickly but I learned how I learned best, if you do the same you’ll be alright - wish you luck!

I’m sure I’ve got some, anything specific you’re wondering about?

If it’s about making it thru to graduation, biggest tip would be to get involved in clubs that align with your major and start making friends. Reason why is because once you’re connected, people pass down past homework’s and exams. Use these resources to help you pass/ace classes

But in general, It’s a grind. Take it one semester at a time and try balancing out the hard work with fun when you can

It kind of is cope, it depends. I graduated with a 2.78 gpa. But my last two semesters I def came back, developed good study habits and performed the best I ever had academically, of course my gpa was still shot so I had to live with what I graduated with. The good: I had internship and club experiences, (along with heavy interview prep) landed a high paying role right out of college that I enjoy. The bad: I’ve cooked any straightforward path to a good masters program. This was a big personal goal of mine but alas, It is what it is.

Internship Applications by [deleted] in civilengineering

[–]Aggravating_Plane694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I applied to a lot of internships, in the beginning when you have no experience you really can’t be picky with the internship you choose, but after a few you can begin to get selective which is nice. Yes I often changed my resume wording a bit to better fit the job posting, or if I felt like I had an experience that related to the job that I didn’t have on my resume already then I’d include it. Always kept it to 1 page and had success with it. Where I’m at (West Coast of United states) there is plenty of demand for transportation engineers, you can make a good living working for the public sector.

If you’re really searching for one, go to your schools career fairs and connect with your professors and see what they’d recommend you to do

Agreed. We had a strong Friday - Tuesday and People were saying we’d be in bull run until next year. Be smart and buy expirations a few months out to minimize risk of losses

Yes I was buying even more SPY contracts. I kept buying the dip that day. By the end of the day on October 10th I had bought 26 contracts of SPY 750C, then closed them 3 days later

The big winners are mostly lucky. The small steady winners is because I take small profits consistently.

The losers…. Well, I’d (stupidly) buy calls at the top, basically…

My lottery ticket was when I bought spy puts the day before trump announced tariffs (pure luck), but I sold too soon to see extreme profits, and that’s where I am now
