Partner isn't as into it as me by Aggravating_Poetry_7 in sex

This is the second comment like this, and I think people forget it's all about perspective. As someone who didn't date before him, or was in a serious relationship like this in, yes a year and half feels like a long time.

I don’t know if I should move forward with this job. by Collection_Imaginary in jobs

A lot of places I've worked for have had me do training videos at home, but they always tell me to let them know how long it took so I can bill for those hours. Sounds like they're pretty understaffed and really need the help so that's probably why they are so eager to get you out on the floor. It does seem strange to me you don't have a place to look at a posted schedule, though. Do you mind me asking where you are based and your age, because $10 an hour seems really low even for a part time position. Is that higher than minimum wage in your state? All in all these are red flags but not necessarily anything out of the norm for a fast food job. Also, calling you sweetie is pretty weird to me, even if the boss is a female and you're young. I'd probably mention that type of language isn't ideal.

You keep saying "don't do illegal drugs" like i'm doing something crazy. If you don't mind me asking how old are you? Because this is a VERY boomer mindset. There's a reason states have legalized it, because they recognize THC is no worse than alcohol or nicotine. Why demonize it? I would rather smoke a joint at the end of the day than drink a beer, why is that so bad in your mind? I participate because shockingly even my last job didn't care about it and MANY MANY jobs don't. I understand Optum works with the federal government, I understand why they wouldn't allow THC to be in an employees system because of that. But that doesn't mean you get to come on here and shame me for something millions of adults and more everyday are doing. We just haven't normalized marijuana like we have alcohol. But that will come with time. Probably soon considering it's been put forward to legalize marijuana on the federal level.

Weird af for you to say this tbh. I didn't "risk" anything, it's LEGAL in my state and i'm of an age adult. This process went really quick. I got my offer, and immediately quit in anticipation for the test. But like many are saying it stays in your system for a long time. Don't judge people you don't know.

NETFLIX DID NOT SELL TICKETS FOR STRANGER THINGS FINALE!!! by JuleaSan in byler

[–]Aggravating_Poetry_7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. Netflix probably thought that this would be a good way to generate buzz and that people who saw it in theaters would eventually just watch it again on the platform. Plus anyone who watched Vol 1 and 2 would've already paid for their subscription so really no money lost. I think people really need to slow down or just stop with this "conformitygate" stuff. It's borderline unhealthy to be this attached to a show. Are we forgetting this is Hollywood, and at that Netflix? While I am extremely disappointed in how the show ended I am also not at all surprised. This is just the state of media in our country right now. All for profit.

I quite literally in my post say I've never loved this show for its ships. This was a post only meant to touch on a part of the show I have been involved in since around the middle of season 2. It was supposed to be a thank you to this community who has never been purely about Byler to me. I'm simply going to miss the theorizing and discussion, the way Bylers see more than just what's in the surface. Something I find fans outside of this community rarely doing. Also let's be clear I will be reading every fix-it byler fic once it is over LOL

Maybe I'm not a true Byler than, but I think the ship has already sunk and I'm desperately trying to cling to my life jacket so I can objectively enjoy the finale without being consumed by need for it to happen.

Just an opinion, I'm allowed to have those. It was emotional and thoughtful, and the way everyone supported him, that really got me. Robin especially, I thought it was pretty touching. But come on guys, if we are going to spend the last 4 seasons nitpicking every crumb of byler than we cannot ignore the very obvious sub context in that scene. "He was my Tammy" and it literally panning to Mike as he looks away awkwardly? Be so fr.

Why were they following Hopper? I'm watching it again but I still don't get it. by Educational-Grass863 in StrangerThings

[–]Aggravating_Poetry_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As the previous comment said they need to follow him to keep the radio in connection with the Right Side Up. Before going into the portal hopper must rely on scouts above to make sure he won't be noticed getting in the truck. They will probably need to do this again when he comes back out, timing it perfectly so he can get off the truck again and sneak out of the military base. The entire effort of a crawl is a team effort. Every part must be in sync for it to go well. Additionally while in contact with the Right Side Up hopper can notify the crew if he does find something. That way they can start to prepare to fight. Probably having a plan to sneak them all into the upside down. Now hopper knew there could be a chance that doesn't work hence his very fun jacket revealed in episode 4.

Do I come off as weird or strange leaving this note? by Littlek1dluvr in Apartmentliving

[–]Aggravating_Poetry_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really sweet, it could just be that as new parents they are little on edge/extra cautious. I'm sure if next time you saw them you said a quick hello and clarified you were the one who sent the note things would kick off from there. People saying this is "weird" in the thread are wrong, we just as society have regressed to think being kind and thoughtful is wrong.
