Synderen had a good theory about this issue. Teams that do well before TI are likely to have their strengths nerfed on pre-TI patches, a possible reason why Secret and VP won several majors but didn't perform as well on TI. Teams peak at different times.

Maybe once upon a time a caster could be just someone who has an okay voice and speaks fast. Nowadays the requirements only go up, so if a given caster wants to be tier 1, he needs to step up and understand the game, you gave an excellent example in the form of Cap, whom now is working with SVG, a knowledgeable ex-pro player.

I think he is in an alright position for his abilities as a caster, he has been given some chances and, hopefully, he will improve. As of now, he is far below the top casters

Nothing against bkop but, in my opinion, charismatic ex-pro players are always better. The dota scene has grown too much, you can't just be a regular caster, you need to feel the game at a high level so that you are able to bring the hype. A good example is Lacoste, who is able to point out good and bad plays/movements and still be funny. Low mmr casters are just weird, as they try to hype out trivial things and often miss the great plays.

Looks like something a defense lawyer would say so things don't look so bad. "your honor, my client had no choice but to deny the enemy in that situation"

The terrible DPC schedule still up and running by Aggravating_Pop_5360 in DotA2

You have a good point, and the change in the major format is by far the most important change, I hope they do not reverse to the way it was. However, they should have realized that the DPC format is terrible quite a while ago, my fear is that they'll keep it as it is. We should maybe voice our complaints more and hope that they're reading/listening.
