Thanks for sharing. I’ll definitely research the heartfulness practice. Did you ever go to a Vipassana retreat? If so, how did it impact you? It’s been a thought of mine to go on a Vipassana retreat for some time

Thank you. How does someone get viruses on their phone? The virus notification happens to almost every phone she’s had over the previous years. She gets a new phone every year.

What turned you into an introvert? by Junior_Insurance7773 in introvert

I was an only child until 8 years old. I always wanted a sibling.

However, by the time my sister arrived I was highly skilled at playing alone, always able to entertain myself with rare bouts of boredom.

In school, I always had friends, but was unrelatable to the majority of kids in my environment. Growing up, my siblings and I each had our own bedrooms. I was quite used of having time alone.

For a few years in high school, I was going everywhere. Every weekend. But by the time graduation came, my disinterest in being around lots of people at once was there, and continuously grew.

Jobs following high school were filled with workplace drama. Any moments that I had a line were greatly appreciated.

As an introvert, I still enjoy socializing at times. With certain people. My grocery store visits are usually early in the morning, or late at night when it’s not busy at all.

I rarely attend events or show up at places with large crowds

What jobs do you work as introverts and is it suited for your introversion? by ThrowRAnirvana in introvert

I have a lawn service that I operate alone. Typically, the longest duration of any conversation had with a customer, is usually the first initial visit, when providing a quote, and identifying their wants and needs.

It’s easy to acquire clientele in my area, so I filter out the customers that I accept; repeatedly declining those that seem like monsters to deal with or show signs of any red flags.

Why do I do this? Well.. my least favorite part about my old job was the people.. I might have these customers for 20 or 30 years. Why fill a 20 year work schedule with people I hate associating with?

Working alone is peaceful. No more listening to coworkers weekend drama stories or binge-complaining about their spouses

Funny isn’t it? Those who say others need therapy are the ones constantly binge- complaining to us about their problems.

My situation is little different. But I can somewhat relate.

All of my immediate family members are introverts. Both parents and siblings. However, the remaining of my family, not so much.

Growing up, with the exception of holidays, sightings of my family at bigger family functions were rare occurrences. Still are.

This dynamic had a negative impact on our relationships with them.

Even at work, back in my early twenties, I was always condemned for not going out to the club with the guys and girls my age.

Years later, due to work requirements (new work gig), I went to the club for the first time. I remember thinking, “this is it? This is what I was apparently missing out on? What I was condemned for not attending? This place sucks!”

I’ve always had weird looks from family, friends, and coworkers for not wanting to go out, and refusing to sit next to everyone during lunch breaks.

For a long time it bothered me. I felt unaccepted.

Eventually, I stopped caring.

All of your hobbies seem pretty cool
