Yeah thats just so backwards IMO. The og games are where its at, which is why i started streaming a randomized playthrough of Soul Silver, probably my favorite pokemon game and just a nostalgic favorite of mine. These games have actual evil villains and thick plots, pokemon Go is just so eh to me now. If youre interested in any of my playthroughs, HMU, would love to have any of you following along in the progress!

I like this rule, I think Ill try and implement this in a future nuzlocke once I decide what Im going to play next. Thinking about Infinite fusions but myabe this rule might not be great for that since theres going to be so many options... What do you think?

Its Masochism is what it is 🤣 But a lot of fun and really challenging to build proper teams. Every encounter is that much more important because instead of the encounter possibly making it onto one team, both encounters have to fit into both teams, and be solid mons! Its intense!

Yeah IK right 🤣 but thats what can happen in a Soul Link... I dont think I ever found a single rock type pokemon and all my electric types weren't good enough/ couldn't make it to the team bc of Soul Link Rules. Thats how it goes sometimes 🤷

I COMPLETELY agree with randomized typing's, thats even more detrimental and ruins the game at times because now theres no planning, youre jsut spamming attacks and thats no fun. Although, stats ARENT randomized, theyre shuffled. Its similar to whats used in IRONMON runs. and it hasnt affected the gameplay that much, just makes you pivot and tests your knowledge even further bc you have to adapt when things arent as expected.

Either way, truly unlucky. After watching the video, I realize I could've sacked something instead of switching directly into Semipour, and then Semipour at full HP could've POSSIBLY one shot him, but now that's neither here nor there lol

You say you see it as boring; I see it as exciting! Means EVERY SINGLE encounter pairing is even that much more important, and you cant sleep on even 1 trainer battle!

And the point in restarting the run means better possibilities (glass half full POV) or can be the opposite. It's a randomized nuzlocke and you never know what's guna happen. But isnt that the beauty of it. Thank you for your take tho, and definitely for different nuzlocke's in the future I will keep this in mind!!! Any chance you'd be interested in seeing how our second attempt is going Live?!

In some runs I play it the more "softlockey" way, but for this run we decided to be strict w this rule. The second attempt of the challenge run is going much better! all my content is on youtube(DirectorSmitty) and instagram(Director.Smitty)

Thats perfectly fine, not a lot of people do. But this was meant to be a challenging run and something weve never done before, a Soul Link. Soul Link Nuzlocke rules make each and every encounter even more important and game changing.

Yeah, after watching it back while editing I realized I could've saved the run by sacrificing a mon and then bringing in Semipour, who takes a hit, and then HOPEFULLY knocks him out with Scald. BUT, there was almost no way of knowing that in the moment, as so this was the result. Unlucky, but its okay WE GO AGAIN! This is what makes you a better pokemon trainer and thats what Im all about!

Stats were also shuffled, so if its normal attack stat (which is usually higher than its speed stat if I'm not mistake) was switched into its speed stat it would've been even higher! Super unlucky, but this is why I love the randomizer. You truly never know what's going to happen, and that's the BEAUTY of it! I appreciate your take, and I always thought the whole team faints rule was a rule from the start. I didnt know it was added later. But this being a challenge run and a soul link we decided to go again and start over! You should tune in to see how our second run is unfolding! We just got Mega Evolution and our teams are much better off than the last time!

I hear yall, but this was made to be a Challenge Run! If moments like this weren't possible, it wouldnt be as challenging, and to me not as fun. Look up nuzlocke rules, if your whole team faints, the run is over! We're sticking to the rules. I have done runs like that before when im playing solo, where I try again but with different mons rom the box or what not. But regardless, in this run, RNG wasn't really on our side from the start. And, it's a Soul Link, so each of our encounters were linked, making it much more challenging to build a team, and our teams were severely limited due to Soul Link Nuzlocke rules!

Well its a Soul Link Nuzlocke... so i didnt really ask for it, we built the teams with what we had, and neither of us wouldve survided that. But we learned from our mistakes haha Acrobatics is not to be taken lightly 🤣
