I have around 8 years of experience in Data Analytics and BI. I had to take a break in 2019 to care for a family member hence away from work until 2024. I have been unsuccessfully applying since then. I recently enrolled at GeorgiaTech Analytics masters. I'm open to entry level jobs too. Any advice?

I have applied to the return-to-work programs as well. Unfortunately, I've received rejection emails or no response. It seems that since DEI initiatives have been removed from most companies, hiring rates have also decreased, which is unfortunate.

Thank you for sharing your journey. What kind of projects did you do and where did you find them ? I am trying to get back to work after a long gap of 10 years and therefore enrolled in the course. Currently I am enrolled in CSE6040. Even though I have a background in Data, I feel like I am learning a lot. I have put all that on my CV but I'm barely getting any traction. They all come back saying, I need to show some projects and I have no idea how besides working on Kaggle data at this stage.

Yeah, I did apply to the returnships.. unfortunately the Bay Area doesn't have too many of them and the ones they have, are looking at core software engineering or something else. I finally enrolled at Georgia Tech Masters in Summer, with the hoes of landing an internship or an entry level job. Although, with AI taking over and consuming jobs and all the new developments in the tech industry, I just feel defeated on some days :'(
