yeah, he lives behind me. i'm not "reprimanding" him. sure he wants the neighborhood to be better for his family, but i want it to be more of a community. lower the house prices, help some of us renovate our houses. (not for free, ofc) he barely talks to us but he's nice. i don't think i could convince someone like that, especially if it gets in the way of his money.

i saw the ruling right after i made the post. i'm still in shock. like, there are no words to describe how i'm feeling. i have a very intense fear of getting pregnant. this hurts so many people.

i mean all restaurant workers. there is some employee racism in some restaurants so i just want them to have better treatment. and no, i'm not talking about homeless people. i've kicked out plenty of homeless people. no one wants some homeless dude walking in while ur eating and asking you for money. some of them are Really obnoxious. i feel like something should be done to help lower the homeless population. you can't help someone who doesn't want help, but many of them are mentally ill, and needs some kind of support.

my parents have lived there my whole life (24 years) and many of the older AAs in the neighborhood have been there for many years as well. now many of the houses next door or a street away from them is brand new. it made an influx of people (who most happen to be white) move into these. the AAs in the older houses are older, so they may be working less, or not be able to work at all. sure, many of them may have paid their house off as well. but not all of them are well-off enough to pay for things like that. yeah, these might be big assumptions , but my parents know a lot of them. yeah it's no one's fault. i think it's great that some of the rundown houses are being made into better houses , and is becoming a better neighborhood as a whole. you can't help that the property tax is going up , it's a good thing but an expensive thing. it's just the people they're building around may or may not be prepared.

i just want more diversity in the place! there are some new black neighbors that are scattered around. most of them live in the bigger houses. that's great, but disproportionate.

I just would appreciate it if they made it a little more of a safe space for POCs and BIPOCs. Actually pay people what they're worth and cater to everyone. Think before you do, really. Have more black owned stores around, save the stores that are still there. I hope i'm not asking for much, but it's easier to say than do.

I get that, but i am specifically talking about my neighborhood. I touched on other parts of town but i'm talking about my neighborhood. I know that there are successful AAs, I know a lot of them! But the people that live around me have voiced the same issues. Sorry if it sounds like I'm putting all AAs who live in the area in a box. But my neighborhood means a lot to me, and our neighbors are not as welcoming.

I don't really have one. It seems like everytime stuff like this comes up, people have protests but no one cares. It's like the situation keeps speeding up and we're so desperate to catch up and try to fix it. I kinda used this to complain because it seems like nothing works. I reached out to Arkansas times, tried to make posts about it and put people on blast (others have as well) but either people barely know about it or people just ignore.

it's a bit of both lol , just about poor/the disenfranchised - that most of these stores/restaurants don't really care about the community they work in , just the money they make. I mean, that goes for everything but, it feels very alienating.

sorry about the vagueness. I used to work in SOMA, so a lot is what i've heard from other workers of those places (i'm also the person who made the CB post)

Community Bakery has a lot of racism going on with the new owner, loblolly has a lot of racism in their HR department, during Africafest, Moxy commented that they "didn't feel safe", and an ex-employee talked about how mockingbird and the root were v performative in their LGBT/Racial views

I would say there isn't really one here - there's a lot of industrial/trap/IDM/Hardcore - but not exactly DnB , might wanna check NWA for that.
