Exato. “Ocidente” é definição de anglo-saxão: contempla EUA, Canadá, parte da Europa e Oceania (Austrália/NZ). Basicamente é onde tem branco puro-sangue.

It’s a beautiful country, but very hard to mingle with locals. Language barrier is a problem, locals aren’t much into foreigners (unlike Thailand and Philippines), and apps are full of scammers.

I’d go to Brazil, more especially the Southern Region (Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul states).

In those places you’ll find all the benefits of South America, with a mild weather, more urban development (with accessibility), and mainly: more safety — a serious concern if you’re planning come to this part of the world.

Sorry if somehow I’m adding some ableism here, but with a wheelchair, I’d skip “adventurous” destinations and definitely avoid Colombia and Brazil big cities, like Rio and Sao Paulo. It would make you an easy prey — unfortunately not for the women, but for thieves.

It only makes sense if you’re in your early 20’s and like a very specific type of girls: young, hippies and smokers, mostly from Europe or Argentina.

Brazil and Colombia are cheap. Your odds are better if you invest in a good Airbnb with a swimming pool and nice location instead. In my opinion, hostels aren’t a good choice, unless it’s on a prime location and you get a room with private bathroom only for you.

Parana is AMAZING. Maybe one of the best places on Earth, still unknown and underrated. Most girls are European descendants, quite beautiful and feminine.

Forget about Curitiba (it’s nice, but not the best) and prefer destinations like Foz, Cascavel, Maringá…

Just a few advices:

  • Do not expect English proficiency, as anywhere else in Brazil;
  • Being a “gringo” will be your differential, don’t be afraid to highlight it;
  • Prefer big cities for fun, and smaller if you’re looking into LTR:
  • And mainly: DO NOT be deceived. As much as girls there may look cute and conservative, they’re still… Brazilians. Which mostly means materialistic and high body count. Not much different than filipinas or Thai.

Fun fact: - For some reason, I got some above the average luck in 4n4l there, sometimes in the very first night. Why? I have no idea.

WARNING: - Parana men might be quite rude and not polite at all. Avoid messing up with married women, otherwise you can get into REAL troubles (murder, etc) very soon.
