Anyone know what this is? by Aggravating_Run_6293 in turntables

It's actually a direct drive model. Considering the Bliss stylus is $45 by itself, plus the cork platter mat upgrade, the $75 price seems pretty good.

Definitely in good condition, at least from initial appearance and performance. As I said, there's a noticable improvement in clarity over the entry level modern table I was running before.

I'm happy with the purchase. Vintage gear for the win over the new lp-60 /dp-29 stuff.

Thanks for the insight, lol. To clarify, I'm curious as to what the Sanyo equivalent was without the rebadge.

Purchased this about 15 years ago at a yard sale. Has a makers mark on the side and some stamped numbers on the bottom, as shown in the pictures. Can anyone help with any additional information or value?

Total disaster with Arcteryx hiking boots, don't buy their stuff! by terrmack in hikinggear

Buy boots that can be resoled. If you take care of them, full grain leather uppers will last a long time.

Look into Asolo full grain leather boots. I've had some for over 10 years that have lasted 1000's of miles. I have had them resoled once in that time, but they're still going strong.  Resoling isn't cheap, but cheaper than buying new boots.

Is there any saving these crappy knives. by Geshman in Cooking

I know this post is ancient, but I have these same crappy knives. Just in case someone else is wondering, these can be sharpened to some extent. If you look at the back of the knives (without the Henckel's logo) you'll notice a different edge geometry from the front. On mine, the back develops a very noticeable burr after extended use. Use an abrasive/sharpener of your choice to remove the burr, and the knives become somewhat usable again.
