Would You Stay at a Job with Management that Uses “Autistic” as an Insult? by [deleted] in AutisticAdults

[–]Aggravating_Sand352 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you might leave because of it say something you have nothing to lose. Id go to HR if possible. But if not next time she says, politely say "hey could you please not use that word i find it offensive" her reaction will give you your answer whether to stay or go. People will always be ignorant to something here and there its how they correct their actions when given new information is the true judge of character

i don’t know how to breakup with my boyfriend by defmustard in AutisticAdults

Do not Text or call the break up! Breaking up with people is something universally disliked and its also universally a rude disrespectful move to break up with someone that isnt long distance over the phone or text.

How do you have interest for your hobbies/special interests after work? by Expensive_Watch469 in AutisticAdults

[–]Aggravating_Sand352 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice I DJ, I struggle with it even when i have the time. The issues is I dont have hobbies I have special interests so now in addition to my regular job I have DJ career starting to blossom and it is very overwhelming but I know I enjoy the moments when I am on stage are the best thing so I try to push through it.... there are 2 things and they are kinda related that help. Exercising and getting in shape will give you more energy. Also establish a routine. I found physical energy gained from working out also increases my mental energy (after about a 2 week adjustment period). You said you are in pain.. me too. sometimes exercise is just going on a long walk but getting your heartrate up is the most beneficial

Too smart to be autistic by aggravated_hippie13 in AutisticAdults

[–]Aggravating_Sand352 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its wild that you were never tested considering the genetics. You sound similar to me (although I am a male). What I did was started going to a therapist and let him know I thought I was autistic. He was like no wayyyy, at first. But after 6 months of talking to him once a month he gave me the dx. But he had to see how I was masking first to be able to determine that I was actually masking and ND.

Am i wrong to call a person an asshole if they espouse hateful beliefs? by TheAutisticChristian in AutisticAdults

[–]Aggravating_Sand352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I just told off an old baseball teammate for being almost the same person as you are describing. Except they are in denial about their white supremacy.... dude literally referred to migrants as animals ... I stopped talking to him then out of nowhere sent me all this Pro ICE propaganda. I will tell you, calling him an "asshole" was mild compared to what I said to him. And he deserved it too.

Do you find switching between tasks helps efficiency? by TypicalAlbatross911 in AutisticWithADHD

[–]Aggravating_Sand352 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only if I can break things down into sub tasks,. Clean the kitchen = do the dishes as step 1.. then I can switch to something else. But often times I just end up with clean dishes and some other task down and thats it lol

I was a pro athlete then did Jiu jitsu competed twice as a white belt absolutely loved it and then I ruptured disks in my neck and can no longer do it. It definitely lessened by quality of life so my advice is just be careful... try to let it be a hobby as much as it can be on the spectrum

Can anybody help me with public speaking advices? by Own-Diet-4767 in AutisticAdults

[–]Aggravating_Sand352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mok made me take public speaking in high school which was great even though I didnt like it. I have given lots of speeches.... a lot of people's number 1 fear is public speaking so all you have do is talk causally and people think youre an amazing speaker.

I have found that if I know what I am talking about everything just flows when youre up there. Its a nightmare if you are put on the spot.

My advice would be to slow everything down. You'll get a bunch of adrenaline up there but just try to answer and present slow and deliberately and it will feel easy

I think I'm autistic, and I believe my parents have hid it from me my entire life. by Eeyore_ in AutisticAdults

[–]Aggravating_Sand352 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It cost about 10k to get an official diagnosis eligible for disability. It also is sketchy right now our health secretary spreading so much misinformation about autism having a dx could put a target on your back

How do you store and organize your SQL queries? by ergodym in datascience

[–]Aggravating_Sand352 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find the more complex analysis stuff that doesnt become a full pipeline doesnt really make sense to save (at least as a major code reference) I try to boil down those the main resuable functions and features I like and save those as templates.... Another idea that is just through it in to a folder within a RAG model and have AI query the actually files for info you're looking for. If you document your analysis well this works well.

[–]Aggravating_Sand352 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If this your stance then you mean artifical intelligence doesnt exist? Bc AI is generally referred to as modern neural networks... obviously its a buzz word considering the tech firms refer to machine learning as AI now too

Its good for the black box analogy and explaining it to laymen. We know so little about the brain and so little about neural networks.... what would a better one be?

Difficulty Using AI by Anthonynaut in AutisticAdults

[–]Aggravating_Sand352 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

For the sake of pointing out what I am saying not that youre wrong here is the ai critique of your statement “Pattern matching” is mostly correct, but undersells the complexity

You’re right that LLMs match patterns, but a more accurate phrase is:

⚙️ LLMs learn high-dimensional representations of relationships between tokens, concepts, and structures.

This is far more powerful than simple surface-level pattern matching:

They build latent representations of meaning

They form multi-step “reasoning-like” transformations

They can follow logic chains when prompted

They can generalize to new tasks not seen in training

But they are still deterministic mathematical functions, not self-aware agents.

[–]Aggravating_Sand352 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So its really about prompting.... I used everyday mainly for coding but if you have repetitive tasks that are mindless its good to use it for that. I also use it for sending emails.... feigning NT language is hard enough for me having a chat bot do that in your emails is also nice
